What To Work On Next?

4 posts in this topic

I feel like there are so many aspects in my life to work on. I have started by establishing a meditation habbit, but then there is also a lot of work to do in enlightenment or mindfulness etc. I don't want to risk my meditation habbit while I start something new too fast, but as soon as I do, what do I want to work on first?

I would suggest mindfulness next. It can actually be combined with meditation. I think the two are very closely related and conducive to one another so I would pursue those two first. Both meditation and mindfulness can be useful towards enlightenment so that I would work on later. The thing is, you can do enlightenment work at any time. It isn't always something you have to specifically sit down and concetrate hard on. You can contemplate, introspect and do self-enquiry whenever you have some 'idle' time in your mind.

But for serious enlightenment work you need to get good at being 'present' and have a clear, focused mind with less monkey-chatter. So getting the meditation and midfulness down first will really help with that.

Very wise of you not to do too much at a time. I'd establish not more than 2-3 habits a year. For some people that's not much but if you give every habit 3 months to dive in your unconscious mind it will be much easier to spend your attention for another one. So they'll last.

I'd basically write down all the aspects you want improved. Then I'd weigh them so that you have values attached. Then write them down again in the weighted order and shoot for the first one and if that is maybe too hard then go for the second or third. Just as you have the time and power to pursue them.

As you let your meditation habit manifest itself in your psyche you can use the time to work out problems and sub-problems to the next habits you want do manifest. Then research and find solutions so that when you start you are all set.

Cheers to, you B|

They want reality, so I give 'em a fatal dosage.

Building healthy habits in life every day. I mean by that eating, drinking too.. I think healthy body must be essential and after that we can start looking after our mind.

If you have enough discipline, you can start positive visualization every morning and evening.
