can you change your sexuality ?

22 posts in this topic

leo talks about changing your psycology which it works (for me for some extened), but can you make a radical change in your sexuality? i can make myself like different parts in a woman, different types, and so on if i really want to, but i cant make myself like a man, it is impossible.

do you think it possible? does a preference have like core unchangable properties?

"To some extend" is probably a good phrase here too.

With psychology, most change is not actually changing yourself whichever way - it's development, and it's discovering of your authentic nature.

You've go a similarly deep rabbit hole to go down with sexuality, in fact, it's so tightly bound with your psychology that you can choose using your sexual drive to transcend the ego.

But on more basic levels, "changing" your sexuality will be trying out new things with an accepting (observing, meditative-like) mindset and seeing how they feel and if you like them or not. What I find that the very triggers that make you aroused don't change much, but as you drop shame and preconceptions, you discover both triggers that were hidden previously, and new states of pleasure, ecstasy and consciousness.

So if you're interested in experiencing touch with a man, try it without preconceptions. It might not get you aroused (or maybe it will), but you might find it's nothing like you thought it would be.

for some extend because i follow his for 2 or 3 month , but i can get really big changes with this short time because i use all of my time for personal development.

i have kissed a man before two years, i felt nothing. i had no shame with it and it was a time when i was hanging out with some lgbt friends

Ehm ... how in touch are you generally with your emotions?

If I kiss anyone, I'm sure SOMETHING is gonna come up. Might not be romance, nor shame, but could be a sense of tenderness, or longing, or it could be wonder, or it could be resistance and disgust if it wasn't such a great idea. Most likely I'll be feeling a mixture of a number of emotions.

I could be wrong, but "felt nothing" most likely means that you didn't allow yourself to be in touch with your feelings in the experience.

If you start paying attention to emotions in interaction with other people, you'll be feeling something the moment they enter the room. Let alone if you touch them. Pretty much always.

My, aren't we in touch with our presumptions, Elisabeth?!!

If it ain't got no sparks, honey— that's just the way it is.

Just because he didn't feel anything doesn't mean your projection is valid.

It is possible and even advisable to realize that one's sexuality is circumstantial; one needn't go with it at all. One's own sexual polarity (or lack thereof) isn't necessarily a validation or negation of the potential of that spark, which is nonoriginated.

The erotic is transcendent for a reason (or not). It's literally older than sin.

That's right. The spark of one's nonpolarized erotic potential is inherent. In other words, sex is the dual nature of creation incarnate— yet its potential is already unified in terms of that spark.

It's already you, and it is possible to know it. TheSomeBody asks if you can change it. But why bother? You can walk around being the source of it and most folks won't even suspect anything. Talk about being out of touch with one's feelings. It's a matter of chronically forgetting to project your patterns of personally self-reflected circumstantial conditions onto the world.

It's not even spiritual per se, in the conventional sense. TheSomeBody mentioned Leo's observation that it is possible to change one's psychology; one can (and should) clue into one's non-psychological awareness~ call it potential. It's not a matter of lack as insinuated by Elisabeth, after all— it's what underlies the karmically bound personality. It would be very advantageous to get in touch with this potential. Taoism calls non-psychological awareness spiritual. Emotional awareness is part of the psychological apparatus (as is intellectualism) of the being that is going to die.

Femme already has a part of this non-psychological aspect inclusively operative in terms of having a greater familiarity with non-discursive feeling, while males tend to be a bit exclusive with their circumstantial identities— not that femme are that much less invested, i.e:  in the body beautiful.

I highly recommend that people consider changing their sexuality~ in the absolute sense.

@TheSomeBody Someone's sexuality could probably change if they were to be repeatedly raped by the sex they weren't attracted to.

Hark ye yet again — the little lower layer. All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event — in the living act, the undoubted deed — there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough.

@TheSomeBody Besides being raped lol, you could probably change your sexuality by watching transexual or gender bender porn as a "gateway". I don't think someone who is exclusively heterosexual can become exclusively homosexual, but they could probably become bisexual.

Down the rabbit hole, one way of putting it I guess. hmm I wonder if there's any meaning in that the rabbit goes in holding a watch.

Sounds like a lumberjack's worst nightmare.

I've been emotionally attracted to girls before, I've had crushes. But at the same time I was sexually attracted to guys, and then emotionally attracted to guys (more crushes), and eventually my attraction for girls is more background noise.

But I had girlfriend who I'm still sort of emotionally/sexually attracted too.

I also remember while taking sex ed, that my instructor knew someone that changed sexual preference from something I don't know of, to being sexually attracted to thumbs or something. If changing sexuality is somehow necessary to you, then maybe you should delve into that world more-so.

But at least my conclusion is that, random shit happens, and you should probably just accept it regardless.

Sexual trauma and addiction can change the way your body reacts to sex. For worse and better respectively. It’s as you might expect not without side effects.

It's a possibility.

it's a rare moment at all when we're without any of the everchanging variety of emotions, unless we're not paying attention to them or not willing to feel. Is that a presumption in your eyes? Could be. But it increasingly lines up with my experience as I'm aware of emotions.

I'm not saying he has to feel a "spark". I'm not sure what he meant by "felt nothing" - no eroticism, sure, but no feeling at all... I suggest maybe he's not in touch. But of course I could be wrong. Judging from one description of one moment only, of course it's just a suggestion.

Most sexuality/psycho imbalances are almost always results of mental disorders. Healing is always possible but can take years of change diet/lifestyle habits.

@TheSomeBody  I have noticed that the taste changes over time.

When in my teens I liked Samatha Fox sized boobs and now they are a turnoff. Maybe it was just the enhanced novelty of boobs and biguns that was the thing? Now I prefer normal to small.

Also haircolor preferens has changed. Now I am in "my blonde-period".

Not sure about this one. Beacuse when I was younger I preferred black and at that time most people in Sweden was lighthaired. Now black is the most common color and blondes (true ones) are rare.

This might have something to do with people desire rare thing and don´t value common. The Diamonds vs. dirt -thing.

Interesting topic that you came up with! :)
