Why do positive people seem to have deeper insights?

18 posts in this topic

I'm here because I truly admire Leo's work. But not even he is the most positive here. I guess that comes with responsibility and the moderator status. You can't afford to be overly tolerant and positive.

Some members here are amazing when it comes to positive attitudes. They are soft spoken, always well tempered, and never goes into argument. Precisely these people also present statements from time to time that seem so clear, genius and simple.

Could it be that your very attitude to life deside how deep understanding you access? Like if reality only reviele the deepest secrets to the most loving, friendly, positive and caring people?

Barna is one user here that got these traits, another one is Pluto. And also Dodo has these kind of easy going qualities.

What do you think? Insights correlates to how gentle, kind and softly speaking you are?

Isn't it so, yes or no?

These people reflect positivity because they had deep insights. Not the other way around.

They have simply embodied their peaceful nature, which they have encountered through deep contemplation.

But mind you, becoming peaceful/positive isn't easy. It means being able to cope with absolute hell as well. And that's exactly what makes them so positive/peaceful. Nothing can harm/trigger them anymore. :)

In other words, shadow work.

Yea agree though I think you could say something for being inherently positive having some influence on how far you are likely to get with your insights. Being negative doesn't generally promote results of any kind.

Sometimes a statement that comes across as crude/rude can in fact be filled with the most love and compassion. Some spiritual teachings that initially irritated me have now brought me to tears of joy. A truly compassionate teacher will understand what resonates with their students I think.

Haha yup. The truth can hurt. I remember a couple of years ago I couldnt bare to listen to Adyashanti for example. He was so damn honest and crude at times. He was the first non-dual teacher I found that didnt sell enlightenment solely as something that would make you happy. And I guess at that point that was all I was after.

Right now he's my favorite teacher.

This may be very subtle so go through slowly...

The thing is to neither seek positivity or negativity, as to choose one or another is simply an idea or an abstraction. What is needed is not to choose one or another but to remain aware of what is actual. Not do thoughts usual game of choosing between two parts, sides, perspectives, and so on.

To say I’m going to be positive is escaping from what is ‘fact’ to an idea of positivity. If positivity is born of thought  then it is not positive as in magnanimous or benevolent. Do you see this?

Do you see how this same movement is responsible for wanting to be moral but that choosing to be moral “of thought” true morality is not?

Aagin see this in your own inner happenings. It’s very very important to grasp.

This is why “common morality” is in fact very immoral.

But try explaining that to a preacher hehehe?

Mind is no match for the heart. When the imagined self of the mind, meets the true Self of the heart,it sees the end of it's existence.

So one has to ask am I conforming to my idea of being peaceful, good, positive, and so on, or are you negating all such abstractions ‘movements of thought/self’ and staying attentive to those very movemts?

This is what determiens action that is truly genuine in action and action that is actually in-genuine.

Does any of this make sense to anyone out there???

Define Positivism first. Because language is limited. Positive does not mean sweet language and deep insights.

everyone has deep insights, both positive and negative people

life can talk to you through anyone, you can only be in the present moment when you realize that everything is meaningful

meaningful is the nature of the atoms that constitute a drunk guy sleeping on a bench or a lecture from your most favourite spiritual teacher

its easier to see the meaningfulness in your teacher's lecture, but with practice the drunk guy sleeping on a bench can tell you a meaningful non-verbal insight as well
