teaching is the only viable LP for spiritual people?...

34 posts in this topic

Look at Leo. He is going deeper and deeper in spirituality. My question is how would he maintain that if he had other type of job. Let's say if he was a manager, CEO or CFO, if he had a business etc... So the logical question arises... Hardcore spirituality can only be practiced by people with specific LP? Spirituality by itself seems to be "full time job"... How could someone who is 9-5 manager stay productive in his career and at the same time go through deep mindfucks and realizations as Leo does? He would lose all the motivation for career advancement and communication with colleagues.

Why would he? And if he does, he could start his own business, and follow his LP, which has nothing to do with teaching. Kind of like what I'm doing.

Easy choices, hard life. Hard choices, easy life.

Life purpose flowers out of a genuine spiritual pursuit. In a lot of cases, yes, people are drawn towards teaching what they've encountered along the way. But there's no saying what else will come up. That's the whole point of it. To find out who you really are when your main motivation isn't fear-driven.

And constant deep mindfucks aren't the goal at all. It just means you didn't get it yet. If anything, things will end up being a lot more simple the more you get in touch with yourself. So there will be lots of time to do whatever you love doing / being.

@egoless In what sense is spirituality a job? Leo runs this business and does a lot of research and makes these vids. Now that IS a job. But spirituality is not necessarily about all sorts of deep mindfucks and other flashy shit. From my understanding, Leo questions a lot of assumptions, beliefs, paradigms - looks at the mind, so of course challenging that is going to produce mindfucks. Strictly pursuing enlightenment though won't necessarily do it.

I don't get paid to teach anybody.  Not yet.  I have to work a real job.  I basically have a joint career.

Doing one video a week is pretty light for Leo, eh?  He does a good job on the videos, I'll give him that.  And he also moderates on here.  I have to work a friggin' full time job though, plus do all this spirituality sh*t on the side!  That's a lot of work!  It's alright, the pressure is causing me to grow.  I have to be organized and have a great schedule.

How much easier your life would be if you combined your greatest interest - spirituality with your LP ?

I think it's great to use your spiritual growth and mix the fruits of it into your LP somehow. However, I find an interest in spirituality as a topic drops quite significantly as you progress. Before being in any state of non-duality, I wanted to think and talk and watch and read about enlightenment and all that. Now I really don't care, it's quite boring. The states get doper and doper but intellectually there's very little interest.

actually I relate to that as well. It was the same for me. 6-12 month ago I was fully immersed in the topic. I could only talk and discuss it and almost no other topic interested me. Now as I had several powerful non-dual experience and found exactly the source of every thing the intellectual interest is greatly diminished. Now I begin to go back to my older interests. It sort of confuses me a bit because I had such a major shifts in interests in such a small amount of time.

I actually agree with you on thar point. Its true, if you want to take spirituality ro the limit, you need to base a career around it.

A spiritual job can involve teaching, but also healing. Like reiki or old school siddha medicine.

Really if you contemplate, you will notice that all jobs in the world generate an income by somehow affecting people in a certain way. Most jobs do it in a shallow sense, but spirituality does it in a deep sense.

Now there are more options out there except for teaching that affect people in a deep way: theres also councelling and healing, and other more esoteric methods.

For example, I'm currently working at a startup, but I intend this job to just be a stepping stone to my next job.

My next job is to extend the work of Franklin Merell Wolff. He used something called mathematical yoga, and im going to use that method to further develop techniques that will help people navigate their 5th dimension (yogic sense) more easily.

Also I intend to generate art using mathematical formulas, which will provoke people to look deep within themselves. And I'll use a range of constructive logic techniques to design that map for people.

This isn't a teaching job, but it does infect people on a deep level.

Look into the Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE) community where you learn how you can become financially independent  at a very young age such as in your 30s where you don’t have to work to live your life. When you reach that point you’d be freed up to do as much spirituality as you wanted and your work would be extra, and you’d only do it if you genuinely wanted to.

There are hundreds of different ways to embody spirituality in your career aside from teaching.

The reason your mind is stuck on teaching as the only option is because you're being lazy and not thinking outside the box.

Monkey see, monkey do. Be more creative.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Writing.  I see myself as wanting to be more of a writer than a one on one coach per se.  I realize that becoming a freelance writer is what I should transition my career to.  Then, at least I'll be working in the right field.

I'm pushing my luck on the odd occasion, no harm in that ? I'm aware the ego loves shortcuts but deep down I know I'm the only one who can answer and find the truth to my own questions.
