How Do You Interpret The Story Of Adam and Eve?

24 posts in this topic

God wanted only a stupid Adam, a stupid Eve. It is because of their disobedience that all civilization, science, art, everything else has become possible. If they had not disobeyed, we would have been still naked in the Garden of Eden chewing grass.

Maybe Adam wanted to be expelled because Eve was a bit ugly, who knows?

:P

Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?

What's your take on Adam, Eve, the Serpent, the Garden of Eden, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the Fall, etc.?  What do these and the story itself represent to you?

They have the same meaning in my life as humpty dumpty and three little pigs. If its a requirement that the story must be of religious affiliation, then I suppose you could ask the same questions about the meanings of the story of how Joseph Smith read the stone tablets with the secret, magic stone (Mormonism) or the significance of the evil overlord Xenu (Scientology).
