Coming down from my first LSD trip

@cirkussmile you are right, friends with beers was the most comfortable scenario for me, I would not dared to do it alone at home because I get panicky  even on weed too.

On the other hand I totally underestimated it, I thought its going to be relaxing with some visuals because its this hippie drug, I did not expect it to be so stimulating and that you can feel it's "pressure" all the time with these weird body sensations..

At least I learned something, I knew about set and setting but it couldnt have happened for me in any other way if not impulsively, I made plans to do it proper over and over and chickened out every time so I was just fed up and got it over with.

I see. Maybe that can be good also if you rest for some time and then give it an honest try again in a good set and setting. Meditation is everything so start with that if you don't do it already :)

@Berjohansen I think shrooms are more for me, this trip would have been awesome if it stopped around the 6 hour mark.

@MM1988

ues, i find lsd a bit intimidating because of the duration. I really really like my shrooms (semilanceata) they feel very organic or like finding a lost friend to me. It can be a very mercyless teacher thou and give you what you need, not always what you want.. but the peak is not more than 2-3 hours for me so very managable..

Honestly, it can be relaxing, if one lets go and does not resist, but if you are tense with fear, then its not relaxing lol.

Also mushrooms are different because of duration, but still do not underestimate it. In my experience, LSD's come on is slower and more manageable whereas mushrooms shoot you there like a sling shot when you reach that 25-30 minute mark, it can be quite overwhelming in the beginning, but it does go away after 6 hours.

Just putting out a fair warning. mushrooms are not "easier" so to speak, but because they do not last as long, it may be "easier" for some. The beauty in LSD is the duration because it allows one to slowly to get into that psychedelic space and then slowly re-integrate back into ego-mode.

Also when tripping, don't be afraid to get a little weird, if you wanna place your body or stretch in abnormal silly ways, just let all judgments go and let your body do what its gotta do. This is why tripping alone or with a accepting trip sitter can be helpful.

If I would do this alone I would be freaking out over 12+ hours. 100% no way I would do this.

Then the field of psychedelics is just not for you.

You've barely scratched the surface of what these substances can do.

BTW, LSD only lasts about 5 hours. Beyond 6 hours it's just mild lingering after-effects.

@John Lula Have heart, have courage.

The worst thing that will happen is it will kill you ;)

@Ether What I can tell you is try to put your focus simply on the present. Wherever you are--(this path is this journey you choosexD)

Finally back to normal, I havent slept until 10 at night the next day so i was awake almost 24 hours after dropping. I didnt feel quite right the whole day yesterday. Still mentally exhausted but peaceful now. In the end I got what I wanted, I learned what it feels like that its not about the visuals at all like its portrayed in mainstream media. My curiousity is satisfied. I know i barely scratched the surface of what Psychedelics can do but that was my intention.

I will take a long break from psychedelics and if I do them again I will do the shorter more lighter ones like 2-CB which I had a good experience with once in a simmilar setting. While Leo is right that the strongest effects are gone after 6 hours, that weird body feeling and general headspace didnt go away for most the next whole day and you dont really feel like youve come back yet.

Lsd can last much longer . I've dosed on 400 mg of test lsd and was tripping balls for 10 hours

I would also have benzodiazepines, an anti-anxiety medication at hand, a sort of "trip killer", if needed.

Benzo does not stop a trip, makes it a bit easier to handle yes but does not «kill» it. antipsychotics on the other hand do, quite effectivly. Kvetiapin Works good, you find it in seroquell and quetiapine amongst others. Its commonly used as a sleep aid in small doses and 50mg should send you to la la land in an hour or less.. Ive used it in 25mg doeses for insomnia earlier.. dossage for scizophrenia and pscychosis is in the 600mg range so we are talking minor doses..

I actually had some benzodiazepines at home that ive never taken as a safety measure for if i decide to trip. The trip didnt spiral out of control or anything it was just very annoying that im still not right in the head or couldnt sleep after so many hours. I thought thats not a good enough reason so I didnt take them and rode it out.

@Rilles Is it possible that your friends are exactly like you in the pain you experience? What if one of the group opened up and it was found that the pain being held in can now be expressed for everyone present? Everything that you hold inside of you, your people do too. Everything is you and when things are withheld, then there is blockage in life because of that. Put it out there so that it can come full circle. Communication and connection is key. Or is it?
