Productivity-how to write short and clear?

4 posts in this topic

I overthink, and overxplain. What to do to work on that? (any concrete books, videos, advices, methods on this?

As example, my comments on this forum are often to long, my writings in my Job also could be shorter...

It will probably be ignored like most of the advice i try to give on this forum but

it may help to figure out why you do it for example if there is a physiological reason for what you do and then try to solve the problem there leo have a great video on it called the art of solving problems permanently

otherwise maybe you could try to only write the main points or see how much you can reduce of what your wrote and still be able to say what you want to say or really try to understand like an aha moment what it is you write some times i have found that help to write something shorter because it became much clear what i was trying to say if you don't know much about it it can be easy to write all over the place in away alternative maybe be very specific

I want that people understand me. Many times when I dont explain things with big fundamentation and many examples I dont get understood. People also often use every hypotetical possibility to replay and to ,,beat" my argument, so I am trying to write in a way that does not have holes and that does not leave easy space to start saying the oposite (witch i think it is not true) so when i write i try to include the possible replay of the person with whoom I'am speaking, and to give an answerto his replay before he ,,can replay"...

Saying only the fundamental stuff has to be without the suporting arguments and evidence for being a ,,short and clear" writing, thats hard, somehow you have to write down the fundamental theisis is such a celar way that the thesis on his own is ,,self enought" and that it by it self includes argument and evidence that can be easily understood but the listener...

I will now really focus on being short and clear, with method/book or not :) thats my new side goal in this self development work

Practice writing Using this template.

It's made for writing essays, but you could follow the same steps for even a couple sentences.

God and I worked things out
