Is practicing hatha yoga at different times of the day bad?

3 posts in this topic

Along with planning to purchase the book list & kriya book, i want to continue with hatha, but i decided to enroll in an actual class, not youtube videos since i might be doing poses wrong. SO i found there is only one yoga studio where i live that offers hatha (ashtanga is too hard for me) but the hatha classes offered are at different times. For example one day is 9am, next is 7:30pm, then after that is 4:30pm. I read on ishas website and in yoga sutras that yoga should be practiced the same time everyday or it wont have same benefit (similar to how kriya practice should be done in the morning everyday).

Am i making too big of a deal with this and just attend the times as mentioned or is that harmful in a way? Thanks

Yes...I've been doing hatha yoga at the same time each day and my body has become programmed to practice it first thing when I wake up...

I would recommend that you choose one class per week...lets say the 9am class and for the remaining 6 days you practice at home at the same time.

This way you are building a routine to practice at the same time while still going to class.

No need to go to class two or three times per week...most of the work should be done at home anyways
