You are the one creating these definitions.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Ibn Sina

“Maslow’s big idea was that self-actualization was the default state for human beings. He said:  ‘I think of the self-actualizing man not as an ordinary man with something added, but rather as the ordinary man with nothing taken away.’

Take a second to think about that because it may just overturn everything you ever thought you knew about Maslow's theory.

In essence Maslow was saying that we are hardwired to self-actualize. The implications of this idea are astounding.”

Thanks for the answers. As @Nahm has quoted, Maslow says-  ‘I think of the self-actualizing man not as an ordinary man with something added, but rather as the ordinary man with nothing taken away. Now this is eerily similar to the standard idea of enlightenment which is  to return to one's original state of being and becoming one with the source. However, in the same breath he gives examples of self actualized people as Lincoln, Jefferson , Einstein, who were without doubt extraordinary , legendary men in their own right but they are only about the outer greatness, they have no relation to the glory that lies within.  So here I am finding a discrepancy in the relationship between these ideas.

@Ibn Sina ??

In the end, the self actualized man does not exist. Never did. ❤️

That got me taking a deeper look into these so called self actualized people. Lincoln is known for his nervous breakdown, Jefferson for severe depression and Einstein for his disastrous marriage. So I think the entire concept is now looking less attractive. May be self actualization is not a reality to be achieved but an ideal to direct our lives towards.
