How to not miss single day of meditation

12 posts in this topic

Hey guys,

Im just asking for a technique for not missing my meditation and visualisation practice. I am a busy uni student and sometimes I’m physiologically kind of left to do my practices late at night but I usually fall asleep half way through. Any suggestions how to not miss a single day of doing these practices.

Thanks

Wake up earlier and do it when you wake up.

Missing days doesn't hurt you. It's easy to fall into a compulsive need to meditate every day no matter what. Listen to your body and mind also, but do intend to meditate on most days of the year :)

If meditating every day is something you want to do, do it as soon as you can after waking up, as shin said.

(From my experience)

Set a permanent time when you are at your peak of mental clarity.

Write down somewhere why you want to meditate and what you want to gain from it, place the notes somewhere within eye view every morning (try and keep the notes small enough so you can scan when your half asleep/rushing)

Keep sitting to meditate at that set time, FORCE yourself to build the habit NO MATTER WHAT. On the days your having internal resistance to sitting, accept that resistance and just sit.

Make the habit.

Good luck ♥️

It's not an issue of time, it's an issue of priorities.

You haven't convinced yourself yet that meditation is the most important thing you could do all day. If you really understood that, you would commit to it 100% and sacrifice all the other stuff if need be.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Make it a habit same time everyday and for the same amount of time doing it everyday and add routine and rituals

maybe wake up early and go to bed earlier so you get enough sleep and meditate in the morning so you can do it when you are awake and little chance of falling asleep

@Ross Wake up earlier.

I was with a buddy of mine who didn’t meditate and Deepok Choprah, and Deepok told him “If you don’t have time to meditate once a day, you should be meditating twice a day”.

It’s hard to value and prioritize meditation because you’re mentally wrapped up in your life. I get that. The whole world is wrapped up in being the whole world. People aren’t kidding though when they say you’re literally in an illusion, a prison you can’t see or touch. The change in experiencing life can’t be put into words.

It all starts with one decision, to meditate first thing, every morning. Not on faith, or out of guilt, not even to better anything - but to see for yourself.

its all about how you're identified with the meditation.

how bad do you want "it"?

What is "it"?

Contemplate these and you'll know the significance of never skipping a day

i've skipped many days and suffered :D but its all part of the game

1. I have two meditation alarms at 10 and at 6 that say "Hey Lets Go Meditate! There are 100 Benefits!"

2.I also write down every day I've meditated and how long I meditated on that particular day, itt really helps with motivation because it makes you feel like.. "I'm almost 3 months in, I cant quit now..."

Good luck?

Make it part of a routine, just like brushing your teeth or eating something.

Set a reminder or alarm, if needs be.  I find sticking to a set time pushes me into forming a routine with it - a second nature thing now.  Above all else, ultimately it's down to the level of importance and how much you value it,.
