Dreams And The Subconscient Mind

I noticed something interesting a few days ago. In the night I did a meditation session about taking back my power. That night I had a dream. Everytime I have a dream, that is different from what I normally dream of, I search for it s  semnification online. I don't take it serious normally. So,  I looked for the meaning of this dream and  it said something like this " someone has power and influence over you". 

So, what do you think? Can we use dreams to get information about the subconscient?
