Hello, 

This is fine

The point of meditation is to notice where your attention is, and then bring it back to the now

Don't worry about anything else, as long as you notice you have drifted and gently bring attention back then that's a success

The only thing that matters is how often you can notice where you are and bring attention back

Repeatedly

No results 

No outcome

It's just like lifting weights, work "the muscle" of attention

I to feel like this sometimes especially at PMT time but I just did a different type of meditation.  Imagine that your sitting on the river bank of your thoughts and your just watching them flow down the river. No emphasis or meaning is placed on any thought. Still  set a timer. It's easier than fighting with your chattering monkeys. Hope this helps.
