Being romantic, is it conscious or compulsive?

6 posts in this topic

So let’s say being lustful is defo immaturity, unconscious, instincts-driven and not perfect kind of state.

Hw bout being romantic? To someone and in general to be romantic to your life ? Like in Disney cartoons.

1. Is it also lustful trap or more pure/divine?

2. Has truth in it or delusion of mind?

3. Is it conscious behaviour or unconscious?

4. Is it example of noble ness  of human character or immaturity and compulsiveness?

5. instincts-driven or soul-driven?

6. Forever or short-term?

7. Is it more Godlike to be romantic or more Devil-like?

@Monkey-man

A lot of so called "romantic" behavior is often needy, co-dependent behavior in disguise.

Love is depicted as this thing where someone is supposed to "save you" from yourself. Or you're supposed to sacrifice and give up your life for someone else. Both of which usually end up backfiring on both parties.

@aurum Whilst that can definitely be the case, don’t you think that can be a one sided view of looking at romance? If you don’t experience any romance you could be missing some pretty cool experiences life has to offer imo.

@Joel3102

Yes it is. There are many perspectives we could look at, this was just one of them.
