Write Down Your Honest Daily Habits

16 posts in this topic

Just wanted to start a thread and see what people's honest daily habits are like. And I believe that if you write it down, you'll even gain more awareness around whatever it is that you want to improve on. I'll start first.

- I wake up around 11AM, first thing I do is check my phone. Probably browse social media, check my email/texts, etc.

- Secondly, just started a 90-day affirmations & contemplation challenge (As seen on Leo's life purpose course) to imprint my life purpose. 5mins of affirmations and 5mins of contemplation.

- Sometimes I would normally read here, but not consistent with it.

- Then I get up from bed, and fix my bed.

- Make breakfast. The usual eggs & turkey bacon sandwich. Sometimes I add avocados to it. Then if I have bananas laying around I have one, with peanut butter & jam. Take my multivitamin.

- Go back to bed and meditate for 10-30mins depending on how much time I have to spare. I use a subliminal affirmation audio for being social, during my meditation.

- Have my regular shower, then I would turn the knob all the way down for a 30-second freezing COLD shower.

- Brush teeth.

- Have a coffee or a caffeine boost, and then I head to the gym. Workout for 1hr-1hr and a half. Have a high-protein lunch.

- Work. Eat dinner high in protein.

- Play video games for 1hr-2hrs. Then browse internet. Then before doing personal development I play a brain game app by a company called Lumosity.

- Then here I do personal development work such as Leo's life purpose course, and whatever time I have I will read my book.

- Before bed, this is a bad habit... But it 'somewhat' helps me sleep, I have a small vape and smoke a bit of weed.

So this is basically what my day looks like. And on weekends, same thing but I don't usually work so I go out and improve my skills with picking up girls.

It's a pity that at end of the day you rot away a few of your brain cells. :/

Don't get me wrong I smoked weed everyday for a about 3 years at one stage..but the highs weren't same anymore.  I had become tolerant to it so i decided to give up for a month which was easy as I wasn't addicted or anything.  When i came back to it I would be high as fuck..but it just wasn't the same. I did this for a while just giving up and going at it again then the last time I gave it up I just didn't bother going back.  It felt like I was rotting my brains out and the months I took off I kind of realized this.

What time do you sleep if you only wake up at 11AM. The most important thing in your case is, what you're aiming for and if you're making consistent effort daily to eventually achieve the goals you set. If this is not the life you wanted, and by doing personal development work I can assume so, then it seems like there are times in the day that you can use to feel more enriched. I would say ditch the games you play for some volunteer work.

Get up at 10. Hit snooze at least 5 times and have to get up when my third alarm clock kicks in which is really loud. Go back to bed and scroll through Facebook for at least 30 minutes. Eventually get up and shower quickly. At this stage I'm usually too late already and my alarm reminding me to go to the bus rings. Grab a snickers on the way out. Run to the bus station. I only catch the bus every second time. When I miss it I'm 20 minutes late to work. Coworkers don't even say anything anymore just give me a dirty look.

Get back at 5, plant myself on the sofa and watch some TV.  Order some pizza and drink some icecold beers from my small fridge on the coffee table. Eventually get bored watching TV and go to my PC and play some games. The division is fun.

I wake up at 6:30 am and stand up 20 or 30 minutes later. Have usually breakfast with my partner (big bowl of herbal tee, 2 or 3 cup of coffee, wholemeal toasts with butter and jam, sometimes a soft boiled egg). The days i have to work in the morning, i go and teach french in some companies. The other ones, I take my time and read, here or a few pages in a book (currently "integral meditation" by Ken Wilber)

I don't have a strict program because, first I don't like it and second my work shedules as a free lancer varie a lot.

But normally during the day, I make sport (jogging, gym, dance, biking or walking, depending on the weather or my mood), look at some spanish or english videos in order to improve my level.

I take time for meditation (30 to 60 minutes), talk to my partner, go working or make preparations for it, fix the flat and sometimes the garden.. and instead of watching television (what I used to do in the evening) I play the guitar or read a little..

Concerning  my nourishment, I try to find a good compromise between healthy and tasty food in order to appreciate fully the things I eat (doesn't always fonction :-)

It's a lot and sometimes the days aren't long enough because I also rather follow my lust and joy than the "program" so one day I need more for one thing and neglect an other or vice versa..

Maybe it's to slak for a lot of people and surely not straight enough for professional success.. Maybe one day I will regret it? We will see :)

I have very few habits that I actually choose (subconscious or not). I am a go with the flow kind of person, and I get better at going with the flow everyday.

I've tried to establish so-called "good" habits repeatedly throughout my life, but they never stick around long!

I quit smoking about a year and a half ago, but I love my ecig- maybe too much.

When I have nothing in particular to do, I find myself on my phone, bored, a little too often.

I used to feel very upset if I didn't have coffee and quiet time alone when I first get up, but the negativity around it has faded away, so now mornings are much more easygoing for me.

My thought-pattern habits are changing for the better. I'm not immediately discouraged/upset/excited by much anymore as I gain awareness in the moment.

The rest of my life activity is different every day. I wake up, go to bed, shower, eat at different times, spend my time with different people, have different things to get done.

I get stressed out when I have a specific to-do list. I prefer to decide in the moment what I want to do. As my life flows more easily together, I find myself simply enjoying what is right now, without worry over what's to be done, what's right or wrong, whether I'm wasting my time or potential. I'm not bothered by, or proud of, habits I have or don't have. It's quite liberating to just not give a crap either way!

I've spent a couple of years now tweaking and experimenting with my morning routine. I'm currently settled on and quite happy with the following:

Alarm goes off 06:25, I get up do the following:

Make coffee in french press

Drink water

Put part baked roll in oven

Mix up omlette and leave cooking in low heat:
3x whole eggs, spinach, salt, pepper, tumeric chorizo (I keep some pre fried and chopped the fridge) and cheese.

Take suppliments:
Vitemine D3, Fish oil, Magnesium/Calcuim/Zinc suppliment, Tumeric
With table spoon of coconut oil.

Put kale, half avacado, mixed berries, tomato and apple (or pear) in nurti bullet.

Make green tea.

Once roll is baked, fill with butter, ham & cream cheese.

Omelete should be cooked about now so I eat that.

Do as many very long, very slow pull ups and deep ring dips as I can.

Go to bathroom.
Set timer for 2mins, jump in cold shower, soak under spray till timer is up, wash, then hold spray over any injuries/muscles aches I have until I feel they are chilled deeply.

Get dress.

Do as many very long, very slow pull ups and deep ring dips as I can.

Meditate for 20 mins sitting next to SAD lamp

I pack the the roll and smoothie for work.

I usually have a few minutes now before I leave for work before 08:00. I chill out, usually check my news feed, maybe read an article or may glance over my 'stoic jornal' if the mood takes me (I'm very into stoicism and have journaled lots of stoic quotes and stoic inspired thoughts I've had. This is my 'stoic jornal', its mostly stoicism but not strictly, I've also recored lots of non stoic ideas, quote and concepts. I have recorded it a kind of quick inspirational reference to remind myself of ideas I think important). On the way out I often do some more, slow pull ups and deep ring dips on the way out.

1) Wake up at 8-10 depending on when I went to sleep

2) Have tea, cereal and supplements

3) Do sentence completion exercises (Nathanial Brandon style)

4) 'Meditate' for 10 minutes. It's way too fucking short I need to sort this out

5) Go to uni. Listen to audio book or podcast when walking and read when on the bus.

6) Revise for 3X two hour blocks and half hour break, but a lot of the time run way over on my breaks and ruin my schedule (happening right now ;))

7) Gym/Run

8) Go home and grab some dinner.

9) Take notes on PD videos and books I'm reading in my journal.

10) Chat with housemates/Netflix and chill/ go clubbing or to a bar/smoke a dooby.

@Mr Intergrity  and @MIA.RIVEL your schedules might be amazing but @Psychonaut, yours is pure perfection :P.

10 mins a day is, definitely beneficial, for me I think one of the most important things when taking up or trying to keep any habit is to make it easy for myself. If I start to have more things I need to do in the morning, find I'm having to rush around too much or start finding it a chore to fit it. I will cut back, which is something I've done before. I've taken up the habit of meditating and then dropped it again many times over the 18 years on and off I've been doing it. I'm currently a year into my current run (possibly my longest so far!) and its only in the past 6 months I've gone up to 20 mins. The rest of that time I've just been doing 10 mins, personally I think its best not to stress about it and just do what you can, I think building it into your routine as an achievable habit that doesn't feel like its a chore is the most important thing.

  • I often get up before alarm. I absolutely don't know what the mysterious "snooze" button is, so I just get up and tap "dismiss". There are days when I don't use alarm clock. I always try to sleep 7~8 hours.
  • In the morning I drink water, at least a bit. Then I try to drink 2 litres daily.
  • I meditate (depending on my state it is possible or not) from 5 to maximum 30 minutes. Most of my meditation are affirmations. Twice a day.

Eat sleep rave repeat

jk but I'd say these are some of my common habits:

- mindlessly walking to the fridge when I'm not doing anything and feeling like I need to eat when watching tv

- start watching soaps on tv then can't be bothered and start missing them all then the cycle repeats

- Sleeping later and later then forcing it to go earlier then slipping later and later and repeat

- recently swapped out cows milk for almond, haven't gone back so far, almond tastes and feels better

- Always spend a few hours on YouTube before bed switching between personal development related videos and just typical YouTube vlogs

- Listen to a podcast or two in the mornings I have free while I eat or do some chores

Just a few I can think of, everyone here has given a daily routine ? I can't think of my typical routine though ever since semester 2 of uni I've had more flexible days

Alarm goes off at 8AM, if I feel like sleeping more then I go back to sleep

I make my bed, wash my face with refreshing water then make breakfast. Im not really hungry in the morning and I like something quick at this time of day so I fry some eggs maybe

while eating my breakfast I watch the news for entertainment. I like RT

I have 1 piece of nicotine gum

hmmm what else, not much really. I check the weather situation online, price of bitcoin :)

during most of the day I will sit near an open window looking outside listening to the wind, watching some of Leo's videos

meditate for 20mins sometime during the day, 1-2 times

and now just very recently have started to read so not really a habit, downloaded 5 pdf books :)
