You are Awareness not Ego.

What is this you that is choosing to be the Ego?  Is that real or a belief?

Thoughts just come. We have no thoughts about them coming. When we were young we learned everything our evironment told us, we were like a sponge.

 

BUT we already had free will. Sure we didnt learn we could pay no attention\ignore thoughts, meditate, but it was still a choice. An uncounscious one.

But we did choose to pay attention to what your mind said.

I had a strange experience today. My ego started singing a lovesong to me, and begging me not to go. It was sad. I felt sad and cold hearted. It felt like going through a breakup, when you are the one who is doing the break up, and the other person is doing and saying everything they can to stop you from leaving them. It was very bizarre.

@Shin yes, precisely.  I wonder if I have split personality sometimes. Or that's just the nature of the inner work. Maybe both. Where is the awareness in this?

@pluto This is easy for me to hear, not easy for everyone though. That ‘ego’ can run painfully deep, relative to where we’re coming from. 

Deepok talks in that manor, contracted and expanded awareness, right in tune with Leo’s last video Awareness alone is curative. Great stuff man.

I think we're better serve just to observe and not trying to figure it out.

Trying to "find" this "awareness" only gives more food and activity for the false self. It's all prior and you can't examine it, cause you are it. You can't look at yourself cause there's nothing there. It's right there, just there, between thoughts. As soon as you come up with a thought you've missed it. What is it that's listening to these thoughts? Since there is a thought and "someone" who is hearing these thoughts.

No, you can come up with a millions thoughts and still be aware of it.

Just not in the beginning, in the beginning you get lost in thoughts way too easily.
