I did my own letting go technique and this happened

4 posts in this topic

So, for the last 2 years i did the conscious breath technique but for some reason it was not working. I was always focusing on the breath but the thoughts rarely settle down.

But just 30 minutes ago, when i did this technique i understood why it wasnt working. I was doing a form of trying to run away from the thought, like I didnt want to have it, so i focused on my breath. But i wasnt really accepting, it was a form of "conscious supperssion" (label owned by me, haha).

So, for some reason, I just let everything go. I just watched my body and thoughts. If my mind wanted to pop up horrific thoughts, I let it. If my body wants to move or contract my belly, I let it happen.

I thought it didnt work, but 10 minutes later, I noticed a change. The stream of negative thinking was a lot lower. Less worries, less thoughts, less everything.

I dont feel super relaxed. My body feels the same, i dont feel pleasure, im still numb. But i got one thing I wanted, a more still mind.

Skkrt, skkrt.

I struggle with the same... never really liked meditating because my thoughts just race and race (although I recently purchased a muse headband for meditating and it is helping a lot). I've tried the do-nothing meditation, which sounds a lot like what you said you tried, and it is still hard for me to let go. Congrats that you were able to!

thank you, in this latest technique, you just literally got to surrender to everything. Everything, no matter what.

Just wait and see what happens when you let go when you're super stressed out. Try that some time in the future.

Bearing with the conditioned in gentleness, fording the river with resolution, not neglecting what is distant, not regarding one's companions; thus one may manage to walk in the middle. H11L2
