Characteristics of consciousness

2 posts in this topic

Consciousness is an elementary feature found in all life forms. It is the spark of life, and it is present continuously. It does not have a beginning or end because it is in a state of stillness. In contrast life forms and space and time, all are in a state of movement, which signifies that they had a point of beginning and are destined to end. All that moves is subject to wear and tear but all that is still does not fade or turn absent In us consciousness is present at the moment of conception and it is present at death. During the interim we develop and we adopt genetic tendencies, our memory develops, we learn to think, and we acquire identity by emulating parents and peers. By virtue of being still and continuous our conscious is present while these developments take place. It is present and detached, it does not react and it is unobtrusive. Thought is the feature within us that is exactly similar to consciousness. We are unable to perceive this because of self. Self is a wedge which if it is removed would leave thought and consciousness aligned into a state of oneness. Sacrifice of self produces a state of selflessness, in which there is no possessiveness reactions attachments emotional turmoil or baggage of identity but yet there is feeling and selfless understanding. Becoming selfless conscious is an evolutionary process. There is a technique for aligning thought with consciousness. It is not imaginary or brainwashing instead it is a neurological-muscular process therefore we feel the alignment. We can experience detachment stillness and the present as tangibly as touching a piece of furniture because alignment with consciousness is more substantial than anything we know in life. After the first experience comes the process of becoming substantially present detached and still, for which we have to constantly sacrifice the self. And this is the difficult part because despite the best intentions traces of self turn up when we least expect it. Evolution into consciousness requires tolerance acceptance humility practice and persistence. The method is being prepared for presentation here. I thought this article is a good introduction, for creating a better understanding of the surprisingly pleasant and simple method.

Very good

One’s center is not one’s center, it is the center of the whole.

And the ego-center is one’s center.

That is the only difference, but that is a vast difference.-
