how fast is the path to enlightenment?

If enlightenment is what you actually want, it is going to happen. But there's a very high probability that you don't actually want enlightenment.

When life seems a miserable delusion to you, and I mean that you sincerely feel it is a miserable delusion which must be annihilated, then you will wake up quickly. Before that happens, life is pretty damn good- dreaming is damn fun, so why in the hell would you want to wake up yet?

Right now, you're having a really interesting dream of being a spiritual seeker. It is very fun to be a seeker- you have all sorts of neat experiences, and get to construct a whole narrative about how your dream-spiritual journey is progressing in a dream world, edging you closer to some dreamt-up delusion about what "enlightenment" is. Actual Enlightenment is the end of that.

In my own experience

As fast as your willingness to let go of your sense of self.

There is really nothing else to do, except stopping feeding the illusion, and going deep in you to see it never existed.

Which will kill you of course, until you laugh at how this was a just a big misunderstanding. 

But first, here goes some existential crisis, with a bit of terror and depression here and there, otherwise it would be too easy
