Self deception for science, how come is it a here say?

4 posts in this topic

Science is based on research And they experimenting it? Analyze it? Testing it,Observing it, and collect an evidence to prove it ? If i have new discovery for something and I can't make people make them see what i see that heyyy this is my discovery... that is something we don't believe in.. in the academe i learn that we do believe in such assumptions or an idea in our text books based on scientific because it has the process proving a discovery... and even we don't experience it we have faith on it because the process in science is experiencial..  we based on the evidence that express the people who holds an idea..

If someone makes a discovery and tells the rest of the world about it, then for the rest of the world it's still only a belief.

In terms of self-deception, it doesn't matter if the discovery is valid or not. What matters is that you now have a new belief which pretends to be knowledge, even though it's not actual knowledge for you.

This mechanism has practical value for the purpose of human society and survival etc., just like herd mentality. But it's nonetheless a self-deception.

For example the same mechanism is what enables religion to survive. And the same mechanism is what enables the "us versus them" mentality between tribes, nations, or any other groups of people. Including religion versus atheism.

Everyone thinks they have the "facts" on their side, when all they really have is what they were told by other people, i.e. hearsay.

Owwwww!! Thankyou

Science and the scientific method is itself a self-deception, it's a human construct, simple as that. For all other animals, science is not valid. It's only for the human mind. Like for example evolution, it's a complete here say, but we actually believe it happened when we never saw it happen. We believe it happened millions of years back, we take time to be real, that a past actually existed. But no, that may all be wrong.

If one grasps and understands thought then one sees the partial, limited, fragmented, nature of science. To know the limits of somthing makes for effective and orderly application.
