Positive thinking?

8 posts in this topic

I am a very pesimistic person that always expects the worst case scenario and have negative thoughts all day long.Needless to say that these thoughts create A LOT of anxiety,stress and apathy...

Is implementing a habit of forcefully changing my negative thoughts into positive ones and overall try not to do low consciousness activities my solution?Or is there some deeper issue of why I am thinking negatively that needs to be addressed?

While writing this post I realized that somehow...I kind of enjoy my pain.For example I feel better when listening to a sad song than listening to a happy song.I like it because it gives me some sense of self pity and somehow hope that others will pity and love me for being sad. How do I deal with this?

I expect answers which will focus more on my self pity problem.I do want such answers,but please don't disregard my question about positive thinking,I really need an answer about that.

I would recommend instead of forcing positive thinking to encourage your mind in a gentle way to be more positive.

Have you tried all the usual dietary and exercise options like: fish oil, walking, meditating, 8 hours sleep between 10pm and 6am, circadian rhythm, vegan, dairy free gluten free, blood tests to determine vitamin deficiencies etc. I wasted almost a decade convinced I needed the hardest meds to solve my problems but all I needed to do was every sensible lame old lady remedy under the sun. Unfortunately I knew this deep down but I wanted my misery and I see that now.

I wish I had been more pessimistic earlier in my 20's.  Miss optimism wouldn't have taken the boat and sunk it.  Now I let Miss optimism take me out into the world, but only after Miss pessimism feels fully acknowledged.

It's okay to pity yourself for a bit, at least until you feel bored.

Pessimistic:

tending to see the worst aspect of things or believe that the worst will happen

That to me sounds like a bad habit your carrying on, which Leo has a video on. But you also might want to try Affirmations which are basically just telling yourself a short phrase about what new/old belief you want to take/put in your subconscious mind. But if all else fails, then consider that you might just not be happy with your life, and in that case you will need to do a self-investigation to find out what's wrong.

@Ryan_047

Meditation, affirmations and nutrition. You've made an identity out of being a pessimistic person and you're going to have to let that go.

"Finding your reason can be so deceiving, a subliminal place.

I will not break, 'cause I've been riding the curves of these infinity words and so I'll be on my way. I will not stay.

 And it goes On and On, On and On"

@Ryan_047 Just think in language in your mind in a kind tone to your mind "What if you would next time speak in a more positive way (or in an x positive way)?"
