Is elon musk an actualized human?

15 posts in this topic

To me elon represents someone who fulfilled every brick in the maslow pyramid but still, he's an external explorer and a survivalist. He's doing in real life the same as every non enlightened movie director does with humanity pretty much like moving people into mars and having futuristic technology ect. In these movies people have the same personality traits as us, there's still corruption, pollution, thieves, wars etc. I think that there's a huge gap between personal development of humans and the technology progress. . . For the technologic improvement there's nothing to talk, and about our development we're in the dark ages of the psyche. So people like Musk instead of investing billions in expanding our territory and putting the US flag (for whatever silly meaning it might have putting a piece of tissue tied to a stick in a rock) he could invest in the education system, in montessori schools for example, medicine, in culture etc. I understand that business has a huge part but still he had the opportunity to made a difference and will end up making the same difference that Columbus made . . . Expanding our maps and in the homeland burning witches . . . I consider Musk a lost opportunity and a fraud, product of the marketing.

Makes me think of the visual improvements of technology vs audio. Every few years there is a doubling of pixels and other improvements while audio is not really going anywhere. Sure the mass market don't even think about it like that, most people would never think sound could double it's bits and frequency (which is exactly what it does actually) but the biggest reason is that not that much can be done anymore, even when we double the bits and frequency it doesn't add more than a 1% improvement that most people cannot hear.

I'm not sure what a billionaire is going to do? If he started to promote self actualization with billions of dollars I bet he would be ridiculed and those billions would drop and every other billionaire would keep privately paying their TM coaches. Those billions do create driverless cars and improve 3rd world cultures, give us the internet and other amazing things.

Right now if could assure you 100% that if you work 16 hours a day 7 days a week for 10 years you will have 12 billion dollars would you do it?

His vision and purpose is not having or not 12 billion , is traveling to mars himself. . . I sad earlier he fulfills every straight in maslow's pyramid so from that point of view he could be considered an actualized person. The problem is that these people usually have the power to change or at least move a bit societies and if they use their energy in promoting the same paradigms people will lose another chance to get hooked in the inner work. Technology and exploration are fascinating but dont resolve any of the problems like depression, obesity, bigotry, ect. Ask your mother or father if they witnessed the moonlanding, the rising of computers, of internet, of smartphones. There was nothing like that in the 60's and still what there was in the society is still up today, like racism, violence, terrorism, lust for power, addictions, hunger caused by disparity in wealth etc. If we dont work on individuals or at least try, especially people like musk, we gonna end up from fighting and killing with swords, guns, tanks to robots etc. . . Im not saying that he should quit his companies or dreams im saying that he got the possibility to promote the same amount of inner exploration like he does with the external one. And it may result being good for business too in the long term who know, the fact he doesnt is that he acts form a egoic point of view which makes him equal to the mass. Or even if it doesnt benefit what is the problem? In my country there is a wealthy businessman which introduced mindfulness meditation to the masses and he gains nothing out of it. He's just passionate. Musk could do the same. Nobody would ridicule him for telling people to meditate 30 min a day lol. Anyway that's what i think. . . I may be wrong. . . Maybe this is how things will forever be. . . Maybe i'm thinking to much and criticizing musk without purpose . . . Maybe i should shut up :D@star ark

How does the acting world treat Jim Carrey now that he endorses self inquiry?

Enlightenment is a pretty specific breaking away from belief as a source of truth, so unless he has done that, I would say no.

I would have a hard time judging him because on the one hand, I live my entire life in favor of education, health and culture.  But maybe those things are being improved by the silly things that rich people do.  Kids can be in awe about space exploration.  Semi-autonomous vehicles are supposedly safer.  We're all talking about Tessla, and hey don't we all want some excuse to connect anyways?  I also don't want to make the mistake of just agreeing with someone's actions blindly.  Maybe he is not actualized, in that he is stuck on getting himself to Mars for selfish reasons rather than selfless.  If he were actualized, I imagine he would do more to support other human beings, because I'm pretty convinced that compassion is a natural part of the actualization process, but idk...

How could anyone but him know this?  But I suppose we would feel it if it were true?  How can I feel the presence of someone I've never connected with?  Perhaps he is totally liberated, and within that he chooses to do the things he does?

Anyways, someone should let poor Elon know that no one's even been to the moon yet. :P

He made a huge 180degree shift, people are not used and scared to that . . . Or better the ego is scared to that, it was expectable, he was a comedian who became an actor who became an egothreat? And yet some people are into this path thanks to him so. . .

And where's your investment into the educational system?

Instead of speculating, criticizing and judging Musk, why don't you focus on becoming a billionaire like him so you can donate the money how you think makes sense?

Well, are we going come back to argue/judge/discuss "is s/he X,Y,Z [enlightened/yogi/magician/fraud etc.]?" You know what it leads -> distraction from what really important.

I'm more interested in "am I deceiving myself right now?".

Elon is a guy who centered his efforts and energy in his career and has become successful, end of story. He is very far from an actualized, you can see basic unsolved issues when he barely can talk in public without stuttering and showing signs of social anxiety. Is the typical nerd who lacks social skills.

I'm very conscious about my criticising, isn't a problem at all... @Joyboy i'm 24/7 with engineers around and they hold musk picture in their wallet as a saint. . . But should we really? Isnt that a deception? That's why i'm asking you . ..

@aurum 100% action without thinking isnt possible, we have to study the current models in our society first. If me or you were in that state where we got everything figured out by experience we would not be in this forum right now. . . That's why thread are. . . To discuss, to share some points of view

@Moreira social skills are a question of practice and mastery, you can be a buddha and still lack those if you lived in a cave let's say, about the anxiety i think he has that because he's taking himself too serious, i dont think he lacks confidence. A part of me admires him and a part of me thinks he's a lost opportunity. At the end of the discussion is what @star ark said. We need more Elon Musks or more Jim Carries in our society to grow at the same pace internally like we do externally with our technology?

@Leo-Tzu No he's not. I doubt he has very much emotional mastery, or much insight into the real nature of anything. Saying that, from a relative standpoint, he's an incredible man. I greatly admire his vision. Hopefully i'll get a chance to go to space in 40 years or something.

@Moreira when did being enlightened or actualized have anything to do with having good social skills.. it’s just a random skill like cooking, sports, or music lol
