A Few Tips?

Hey guys I have two questions.

1. If I can't go to a meditation retreat because of school/work conditions is it okay to just meditate for like 5-10 hours a day for a week? Also doing this while cutting out electronics and bad food or any other bad habits. I know it won't be like a meditation retreat but I'm trying to do something along those lines that would really help.

2. When feeling ego back lash, is it okay to double down and do even more spiritual work? Or is that a bad idea?

I think theres no right or wrong in this. You decide how much time you want to invest. The question is how persistent you will be. 

I think the healthiest way to handle your ego is to just be aware of it and not invest more energy because of a "backlash". In the end the ego is a part of us. Dont treat it as something you need to get rid of.
