Beware of Any Lineage Which Promises Superpowers

When you get really serious about enlightenment, and you’re at a point where you feel like you *need* it rather than just think of it as a side-pursuit, you may begin to look for a secret lineage to give you some badass technique to wake up quickly.

I just want to briefly warn you, that if the guru or lineage you’re interested in says anything about gaining “powers” through their techniques, then they are worthy of extreme suspicion. I won’t say names here, but watch out. 

I’m not referring to the resent “transmission” advocates who have supposedly become enlightened and posted on here. What I’m referring to is any lineage which says you’ll gain siddhis and whatnot by doing their thing.

also, if a guru tells you that powers=enlightenment, they’re telling you a lie.

This is a very good video. Yes, Sadhguru suggests you may develop certain abilities on the path, but he completely dismisses them.

Why are siddhis unimportant on the path?

Enlightenment makes you realize superpowers are pointless anyway. There is no greater superpower than "Just Being". Besides, you know from within if you abuse any power for negative or manipulative purposes by universal law you will render you powerless again.
