What a Chimp does/ doesn't want?

7 posts in this topic

Here's what I thought...

What does a chimp want?
    • Social gathering
    • Status quo
    • Tasty food
    • Care for looks
    • Ego
    • Conditional love
    • One in the herd
    • Selfie?

What a chimp doesn't want?
    • Truth. It can't handle
    • Life purpose
    • Mother nature
    • Understanding reality
    • Ego less
    • Compassion
    • Unconditional love
    • A hero

Any more ideas...?

@Vignan That’s it my friend! The selfie one really makes my blood boil. It’s probably the most egotistical thing one can do. Socrates would be ashamed of us!

A chimp desperately wants something but has no idea where to begin looking. Us chumps having the luxury of innate curious minds and we know where to start looking. Chimps want what us chumps have, life meaning, or passions outside of earning money and trying to look sexy. Many chumps want what the chimps have but most chimps are pretending their life is closer to hollywood than reality. Chimps regularly turn into chumps as they get older, they lose sex appeal - having children creates a new paradigm of "A good husband/wife is for life while before a good young man/women has many sexual partners and shows them off".

The chimp sheds the ego when they lose they sex appeal and sex drive, realize they cannot threaten a partner to leave unless they want to destroy their children's family life, watch their children grow and finally see all their genetics and behavior at work when the kid starts to emulate them, develop a knew self image as mother or father.

Personally I think some of us chumps need to act a little more chimp like on friday nights and just go indulge in some egotastic fucking.

Under 'wants' I would add:

  • Social-Rank (status seems to be a big driving force for primates)
  • Sexual-Opportunities (ties in with social-rank)
  • Resources
    • for humans this has turned into the modern consumer society
  • To not die

To be fair, the points I made seem to apply to pretty much all species that are configured to work in groups. As for what a chimp does not want, that is just the opposite of what he does want.
