The great fortune

I’m simply a guy who just wants to share with you his personal experience.

Background: I’m 19, I’m a freshman in university and I am not native speaker so take it easy on me ahahah

Before march 2017 I have always struggled with anxiety. I was afraid of feeling bad both at home and in public, I stubbornly checked my heartbeat and breath, I have had some panic attacks. I had very few friends and no girlfriend. I felt a boring undesirable person. The worst thing? I had never even kissed a girl !!!

Then something happened. I would say “the great fortune”.

On 17 march 2017 I missed the bus I used to take in front of the school , so I had to take another one, I got on the “number 1” bus. There, I saw a beautiful girl (who I’ll call Nina).

I knew Nina a little during the middle school but then we haven’t seen each other for years. Should I have said hello? I really didn’t know what to do, but thankfully she said hello first. We talked a bit and I found out she didn’t use to take the “number 1” bus too.

Three days later, on 20 march, the same scene happened: we both missed the usual bus and we met on the “number 1”.

I was amazed! I mean, what were the chances of meeting her again?

This time I expressed my wonder to her. She was surprised too, she said we could have seen again in the library, maybe, if I wanted to. Obviously YES.

The library was out of my comfort zone, but I almost didn’t notice it, with her at my side. She was very kind and introduced me to her friends, girls mainly, who quickly became my friends too. Now, sometime, I still hang out with some of them.

Then we decided to take part in a student union that is plenty of smart people and where I increased a lot my self-confidence and soft skill.

After just a couple of months in there, the anxiety was gone.

Then, the summer, this summer. It was simply awesome.

I got my first kiss, not only one kiss, not only from one girl. And even better: not only a kiss...

@F A B that’s a lovely life you have going. From some movies I’ve seen, I’m curious if her name is actually Sandra Bullock. I’ve also learned, when I ‘miss a bus’, to say, oh boy - this is gonna be awesome!

Congrats on your success with social growth. Keep working on yourself and don't get complacent/comfortable. Do you work out, meditate, etc.? How long have you been self-actualizing for, and have you been focused primarily on dating/social skills?

@Nahm actually I haven't seen that movie, but I'm glad my story sounds like a movie.

@Cjaryo thank you for asking me such good questions.

Yes, I have always done some sport since when I was a child , and even during the tough time, I’ve never quit. I did swimming and rowing, but now I’ve been going to the gym for a couple of years.

I also meditate but not on a daily basis. Since I live in a noisy town (and family), I struggle to find some quite time.

I have been following Leo for about three years. I like his style and how he explains.

Yes, you nailed it. Now I’m reading, mainly, books about relationship, leadership and cognitive thinking. I’m studying economy at the university because I like math, statistics and how people makes choices. I also liked a lot Leo’s video on systems thinking.
