When You Have a Values Conflict with Someone

How do you handle that pragmatically? 

 Now that we’re all closing-out the Christmas Holiday — I’m hoping someone has a great insight here.  We’ve all been either dealing with family or thinking of family for the past couple of weeks.  Can someone impress us with a wise insight?
