How Can I Learn From My Mistake?

5 posts in this topic

I have a scar (not physical) in my life. it's something that I did when I was younger and now I'm fully regret. And every time I remember it I get so depressed so any tips on how to relief the symptoms or how to use it to self actualise? Thank you.

BTW could anyone recommend a Leo's video on this kind of topics?

what you're referring to is an emotional attachment to a past issue.  you most likely feel regret because you can't accept value for the lesson in the experience.  we usually keep recreating and reliving the experience until we're able to see all angles of the situation and finally answer the what, how, and why it happen.  it's easy to look back and see it from our own perspective but harder to see it from the opposite perspective much less the neutral unbiased perspective.

Watch Leo's video on Self-Acceptance,his video on Letting Go of The Past, and Creating and Mastering your Emotions:

You have to realize that the past does not exist.  You also have to realize that you didn’t exist in the past.  You also have to realize that you don’t exist.  What is this ‘you’?  This word, this attempt to turn a hererogyny into a monolith — this linguistic slight of hand? — this you!

To put it in a more accurate way past, now nor future exists, but what has happened before won't direct what should or will happen in the future.

See that it will end up being selfish to hold onto the shame. It will hinder your ability to help other people. So you actually want to accept yourself and it's not something bad to do.

The exercise in these videos helped me a bit, although it takes a while and some interest to go through them:
