Insight: infinity has no bigger or smaller

6 posts in this topic

I'm not big on maths so I used to think of absolute infinity as {zero to infinity},  where for instance 2 is bigger than 1, hence 2 is closer to infinity than 1.

But it seems to be more as {-infinity to +infinity}, where -infinity is identical to +infinity, so any number would be equally close to infinity, 2 is closer to +inf than 1, but 1 closer to -inf, which is the same thing as +inf. So therefore there is no difference between 2 and 1, they are equally close to infinity, and simultaneously bigger and smaller than each other (strange loop), so (maybe) they are equal, 2=1, and moreover they are both already infinity.

So if nothing is smaller or bigger in reality then subatomic particles are bigger than atoms, and also smaller in the same time, thus equal. Moreover, galaxies are not only bigger than atom, but also smaller, so galaxies are equal to atom. Everything is equal.

Individual karmic soul (if exists) is not higher realm of reality than body, even it survives longer than body. Souls and any kind of 'higher' dimensional beings of conscious evolution is equal in importance or size or whatever else to 'physicality'.

A fun question, which is infinite, physical or potentiality.

@Nahm I like this example ... Nahm checking into Hotel Infinity, and the desk clerk says, "sorry we're full, didn't you see the No Vacancy sign?".  Nahm, being very wise, says "But you advertise an infinite number of rooms, so just move the ppl from room #1 to room #2, and the ppl from room #2 to room #3, and the ppl from room #3 to room #4, and so on ... then room #1 is vacant !" Clerk says, "Yes, that should work" -- despite the inconvenience of moving everyone ad infinitum  ;)

You are uniting too many theories here and then trying to infer facts about reality from that.  That is a recipe for an incorrect result.  Nice try, but reality has to be observed in a kind of non-theoretical way to get at its properties.
