Is building muscle and getting your body as healthy as possible always an egoic desire?

@Max_V just get it bud. It dives into a lot truth view on things (his other joy), as it strips away things.

I wouldn’t do it justice really. Get it in physical format so you can easily get reminders.

If you end up playing with any sports and martial arts it will also help a lot.

His long book (luckily i got the kindle version) of Not knowing is also interesting - it’s like a lengthy unbrainwashing chat.

He’s like a Truth dude with a body focus background - hence why i recommend for folk on here.

@Ocean Ye, I'm already reading The Book of Now Knowing. It's extraordinary for sure.

Best book I've read on enlightenment so far.

I want to be healthy because makes me happy, is selfish thinking but that's fine because it works.

I have a lot of passions, a lot of plates in the air- family, businesses, hobbies, writing, etc. I wouldn’t if I was still the fat lazy ass I once was. Fit = energy & also I find it makes it incredibly easier to have little or no mental resistance.

@Ocean....Just remeber if you specialize you pay a price.

To incorporate all aspects of physical fitness makes a healthier whole

@ocean...I’m also a body weight movement enthusiast. I like to blend little of other aspects on top of that foundation though.

For starters, building muscle will not get your body as healthy as possible, on the contrary spending excess time building muscle will only lead to a premature death. Building inner-strength/core is far more important for optimal physical health/power/longevity ect..

As long as your in complete balanced focus via MInd/Body/Spirit everything will be okay, if you focus too much on one, others will become imbalanced.

Yeah it’s a hefty one. Did you get the Zen body being book - I guess to say a little about.

Yeah, got a few Bruce lees book. We was strong as feck and wasn’t bulky. Big muscle people seem so stiff to me. Ask them to do some gymnastic style moves and they can’t.

I find myself playing sports/activities and doing random things like slacklining and juggling. Balance and coordination type things.

Have you messed around with slow movements for Bodyweight exercises. Very meditative.

@ocean

Sure.. I would think of it as freestyle movement. Like a tai chi but no fixed movmets. Such subtle movments seem to increase and distribute blood flow to the entire body , loosen muscles, releave joint stiffness and increase oxygen to the brain. Especially the spine....Basically an overall nervous system reset. Also when movments are not planned or rehearsed there seems to be a state of no center. A moment where there is no longer a me that is doing but just a doing.

I know that experience, free moving and going with the body. Tai chi and Qi gong was a thing for me for a while but I found my body wanting to move differently, tensing muscles randomly and just dance in a way with no rules.

Life also gave me a book called dynamic tension. Principal is that you use your force as weights in a way. Example would be to put your fist in the other hand, at shoulder level and push and resist yourself. Use one hand to push the other to resist. Cool old book and a unique find.

And yeah I agree, spine is super important along with the nervous and lymphatic systems for overall health.

For me when doing things, focus on the muscle groups while working on them helps - including everyday walking and standing. Relaxing into things while also very attentive and ready to move.

I don't know what is authentic, but I know that I have been doing bodybuilding since 2012 and I feel far better now than before 2012. I like it and I'll keep doing it no matter what.

I train alone because I don't want to get distracted. I focus on the exercise. I focus on doing it right. I go to the gym three time a week and when I'm on vacation I train with free body exercises. I definitely don't like laying still on the couch. Oh Guys, there are so many other benefits beyond a sculpted physique.
