Does pain make me more concious ?

@Leo GuraIve noticed that today while I was driving home from school that I had a toothache ,and after I kind of concentrated on it, It stopped being pain (weird to explain) or I didnt identify with the pain anymore. I just observed it and I could really feel BEING in that moment. 

So does pain make me more concious ?

@Alien This is actually a non-trivial point: There is no substitute for consciousness.

The only way to be conscious, is to be conscious!

There is no shortcut, there is no alternative. You must be conscious directly, not through some materialistic process, technique, or trick. Because consciousness transcends and underpins everything else. To try to use something else to get to consciousness is backwards. Instead, use consciousness directly to get to everything else.

In other words, don't wait for pain to bring you consciousness. Bring consciousness to your pain.

You can always have a thing without consciousness. But you can never have consciousness without consciousness.

Consciousness is easy  , when  you slow your pace of life  ....as I become more and more alert at the little moments I am starting to get little glimpses of higher consciousness moments

@Alien Dan’s got it, imo. The pain “makes me a believer”. Pain is the most convincing facet of the illusion. Careful not to identify with the body or the ego, and the experience of pain changes. When you see more of the illusion for what it is, you become more of what you really are.
