Most important qualitites in a relationship?

What are in your opinion the most important general qualities a person should have in a deep romantic relationship, in order for it to work  in the LONG RUN?

The same qualities that make that person feel fulfilled when they are alone.

Trust, Honesty and active Communication are some strong ones that both should be in complete alignment with in order to thrive In my opinion.

The capacity to not hold an image about oneself and another would be most important. If there is an image there is no relationship between people. There is only relationship of images.

trust, honesty, and active communication are key. 

 The only way to actually trust another is to trust ourselves. The only way to be honest with another is to be honest with oursleves. And the only way to communicate with another is to listen without the images we have projected about them. 

This seems rather rational does it not?

It's not what you have, it's what you don't.

Anxiety, fear, possessivness, self-esteem issues etc ...

If you don't have that, then either the relationship works because you're compatible mind and sexually wise, or it doesn't.

No it's not. not at all. Ups and downs only occur when you have a fake relationship, build on selfish desires.

@Alexo45 I didn't mean to say that. What I meant is that each person has ups and downs and that you together should embrace this and support each other. If you have constant fights over stupid things then it's certainly not going to work out in that manner.
