How To Create A Compelling Vision

5 posts in this topic

Yes, I was am in this newbie trap for as long as I started self-actualizing: I either had no vision or a very weak, sloppy, not compelling vision. I created one not so long ago but I don't feel like it motivates me.

I realized the depth of the problem when I sat down to do a 1 hour SDS sit the day before yesterday and asking myself why the fuck am I doing this? Having a mini existential crisis and questioning my practiced led me here. I "recovered" a good chunck of my life purpose using hypnosis.

I researched creating a vision before. They say that it should be a representation of your life 3/5 years from now and to write in present tense. Knowing this I created the weak vision I talked about earlier. I am doing Leo's death contemplation exercize this evening and plan to contemplate "What do I want to do with my life?".

What kind of vision should I write (ideal day, "vision statement", etc.) and how? Any tips, suggestions or wake the fuck up-s? Thanks! :D

Did the death contemplation exercise again, always doing it when I need a kick in the ass.

@Shiva Already experimented with alot of things but I am looking into expanding my horizons. I see a pattern in which I went with every single topic I explored in my short life. In the 2-3 months of doing hypnosis, contemplation, and the death contemplation exercise multiple times, it seems obvious that I have a deep unconscious desire for helping others to develop themselves. This desire may pass as well seeing my desire to become a board game designer, mathematician, and physicist eventually went away.

I think thinking still helps. Thanks alot though! :)

@Torkys slow and steady wins the race.  As you know, we can all access that higher intelligence and it flows when we relax, let everything go, and get into the now. To me, your post touches on the need for all fronts; meditation, self inquiry, contemplation, not to mention maslow’s Pyramid, and ongoing learning to expand and make room up there. You’re obviously serious about your practices and life purpose. It’ll all come. I wonder if your seriousness is a pinch too consistent. Also, there are infinite ways people are helped by people everyday, in completely ordinary jobs & situations.
