Quarter Life Crisis

9 posts in this topic

Any suggestions on how to deal with this anoyingness?

I tried focusing on work, personal development, art, various forms of chimpery... Nothing seems to work...

It feels like a cycle, comes and goes, but then returns even stronger, and I am at my wits end...

Any advice is much appreciated...

Thank you in advance!

I just try not to think about it, I always suggest the mindfulness meditation for everything.

@Sarah_Flagg

No.

And unfortunatly, I still can't afford Leo's course, I've doing my best with what I've got, though, but either that is not enough, or I'm doing something wrong...

What I notice is that I've been going out of my way to force myself into liking things that I'm studying, mostly science, as my motivation to finish college has decreased drasticly. And my family is not to happy about that...
I mean, I like learning, but everything seems so dry and unnecessarily complicated and vast...
That could all very well be in my head, for all I know...
And it might be the origin of this whole mess, but still, I don't know how to break out of it...

@Draconis Chaser maybe this will help you and guide you. We are a result of our thoughts and the thoughts of other, in this case, your family for example. You are saying your family is not happy, but you are not thinking about what makes you happy. We put the rest of the people before us and we try to do things to please them, and we are confused because we want to please them and we are not sure what we want.

We have to find what we want to do without thinking about anything else, the family will understand. Think what you really like, there must be some hobby you do, something that you enjoy doing.

This text was very helpful to me to understand how the ego is made, and how we think we are that ego.
