The Power Of Now

9 posts in this topic

@Leo Gura Hi! I came across this book "The Power of Now" written by Eckhart Tolle. He's telling his story about how he started his enlightment journey, but I guess you already read this book.I think this is a good lecture for our personal development.

I'm curious about what's your opinion about Eckhart and about his awakening. You have some paragraphs extracted from his book below.

"I couldn’t live with myself any longer. And in this a question arose without an answer: who is the ‘I’ that cannot live with the self? What is the self? I felt drawn into a void! I didn’t know at the time that what really happened was the mind-made self, with its heaviness, its problems, that lives between the unsatisfying past and the fearful future, collapsed. It dissolved. The next morning I woke up and everything was so peaceful. The peace was there because there was no self. Just a sense of presence or “beingness,” just observing and watching"

The Power of now - Eckhart Tolle.

an excellent guide for expressing the process, when there is no process, it gave me for the first time real practical traction of the possibility that I am not aware of how unaware I am.

There is a follow up book with additional helpful exercises on awareness called Practicing The Power of Now. Eckhart Tolle

@Simona Ctin It's a great book !!! This month I read it twice , it's a  very simple way to understand how " presence " works . And try also to watch his videos on YouTube , those are little gems. If you have android try to install Play Books and you will find it there just as I did . Good luck on your journey !!!
