Visualizing Becoming Enlightened

8 posts in this topic

Is this a bad thing to do? I always just assumed that it is. What's your opinion on using the Law of Attraction to enlighten yourself? Or at least using it as one of the many tools in your toolkit. I'm pretty sure I've heard Leo make a mention about how he does this.

Well, the mind is finite. It could never understand enlightenment whatsoever, so it is impossible to conceptualize or visualize enlightenment as far as I know.

Enlightenment doesn’t happen to the person.

@Leo Gura Ah well, I wasn't aware it was possible in this way. Thanks for the info

@stevegan928 It's useful in the sense that it can create motivation and discipline.

It's also possible to visualize your way to God itself, as they do in Tantra yoga or Tibetan forms of Buddhism, but that requires some serious training.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Actually, most yogis and individuals (including me) have much more success with visualization type yoga (Kriya, Tantra) than neo advaita methods like self inquiry. Infact gnana yoga is considered the most difficult form of yoga possible.

@Maxx but that's much less accessible than self inquiry for example, which is very hard i'd say.

It might help to visualize waking up in a dream. Awakening is like that.

They want reality, so I give 'em a fatal dosage.
