Lucid Dreaming - The Most Powerful Tool?

6 posts in this topic

I was contemplating about lucid dreaming and it's relation to Enlightenment work. We are dreaming and realizing that Truth is called Enlightenment. What does lucid dreaming mean? It means that the dreamer realises that he is asleep without waking up. Do you see a strong parallel here? Reality is an illusion - a dream of consciousness. If somebody mastered the art of lucid dreaming what would happen if he applied it to the "reality" could he become Enlightened? Is it possible? Does it make a lucid dreaming the most powerful technique for Enlightenment work? Feel free to contemplate on that...

@egoless I have a buddy who has naturally had lucid dreams his entire life. (I believe him). He is not interested in the truth at all. He thinks the western bastardized version of religion is the truth. He’s a Lutheran bomb specialist. So, just a one guy sample size, but, no. I have had 2 OBE’s, but have not experienced lucid dreaming yet. If anyone has a tip, I’m wide open.

Since he is not interested in seeking Truth he won't apply this tool in reality. I mean it may be a powerful tool in a "hands" of one who is seeking the Truth and waking up.

Here's a guy who first experimented with lucid dreaming, and then moved on to realize the truth. But beware, the view that he takes about the truth is extremely nihilistic, but on the other hand, may offer a different viewpoint about this matter.

Lucid dreaming is not very hard to achieve. Try the following if you wish:

1) Start remembering and writing down your dreams

2) Go to sleep with the intent to be lucid

3) Put your alarm to wake you up 2-3 hours before usual, write down any dreams,  sleep 1 hour, wake up again and so on.

This way you will remember more dreams, because you will go straight into them as you go to sleep.

Once you do this practice for a while, together with reality checks,  the lucid dreams follow

Ps: after I stopped the practice i also stopped having them, but I was surprised how quick and easy it happened.

@egoless

Lucid dreams is reffered to when you realize you are in a dream (you become awakened in the dream)while you were already dreaming.

Astral projection is consciously leaving the physical body.
