Strong Itching In Deep Meditation

8 posts in this topic

Hej there,

I would often feel this incredibly stong itch sensation on my cheeks (face, not but) as i enter deeper states in the meditation practice.

Anyone ever experienced anything similar or same? Any guess what that is or where its comming from?

You mean real itching or more like a wierd feeling of something flowing? I have this often when i breath deeply for longer periods it usually is at the places where your veins are. I don't really know what this is about but i have the theory that i might have to do with chakras flowing or something like that.

@LaucherJunge  No definitly no flow feeling. Its steady located on like ~7 points on my cheeks

@Nahm My mind is bugging me cause i didnt describe the phenomena well enough.. the sensation is more like a mix of extreme itch & bite, it usually stays till the end of the session.  I dont scratch while meditating. Sometimes it changes how it feels in a kind of pressure like feeling where I dont have the erge to scratch anymore, still its strongly present and i hardly can ignore it. Afterwards I did scratch my face. Any other ideas, or still "mind checking if body asleep"?

@ThinAir Glad you explained. Very different.  I don’t know what that is. I would try using aluminum free deodorant, floride free toothpaste, and not using after shave. See if that helps. Maybe it’s a skin awareness of sorts. Any psychological face related thought?
