Is Do Nothing Just A Shorter Version Of Strong Determination Sitting?

6 posts in this topic

I have studied both the Strong Determination Sitting and Do Nothing meditations, but I am not sure if this is a correct distinction. Could someone please correct me if I am wrong?

Strong determination sitting is sitting for a very long time without moving your body. This technique doesn't really tell you about what to focus on in your mind. Your only goal is basically to survive the sit and not move.

Do nothing is a specific focusing technique. It says nothing about how long you sit over whether you're even sitting. You could be walking.

The two can be done together at the same time. Or separately.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Leo Gura Does it matter if every meditation session is "strong determination sitting"? I mean does having a timer any extra benefits?

The point of a strong determination sitting is not the amount of time you sit, time is irrelevant. It's the physical discomfort and all the thoughts that arise with that what it's about.

@drelamore It's just one of many techniques you could use. Feel free not to use it at all.

@Leo Gura

Could ''Do Nothing" and "Strong Determination Sitting" be use to reach Enlightenment? Every time I sit to try to do "Self Inquiry" it just feels like more mental activity...

Any advice, always appreciated. Thank you.
