Meditation After Effects

4 posts in this topic

I've been meditating for about 3 weeks now and i've noticed that whenever i feel like i've successfully meditated on top of feeling more peaceful and clear minded, i have a sort of visual cue where everything just kind of loses saturation for me. it's not because i've been resting with my eyes closed, i can attest to this happening to me even when i've tried meditating with eyes wide open. is this a common thing and should i be worried?

Everything that can happen, will happen.

-Murphy's law

A lot of weird things will be happening during your time meditating. ups and downs, Highs and lows.

Find what remains during those times, what is always the fundamental thing that doesn't change whenever you are going through hard times or amazing highs.

And remember there is no such thing as a meditation gone wrong, no, every meditation session went exactly as it was supposed to go.

@Laputan Machine if u mean saturation as in hue or color,  i've experienced successions of multiple saturation losses down to a literal visual black and white.  we make of that we will. i don't think it is worrysome, i think it's a visual representation of a minimization of conceptualization.  maybe you're a very conceptual thinker and becoming a quality meditator.   or go to the optometrist.

@Nahm yes, its kinda like someone has put a shitty instagram filter over my eyes. it's not a bad feeling or sensation per se, i just wanted to know if anyone else has that and possibly know the exact mechanical reason for why that happens. i don't experience such desaturation after sleeping, for example.

@Max_V you're misinterpreting this as me being worried :P i'm asking if i should be, i'm not necessarily worried right now
