Human Egoism

13 posts in this topic

Hey actualizers

I'm having a small crisis at the moment since I realized that most People are always looking for their own benefits. As example, a girl wants to chat to you since SHE wants to be entertained and feel this particular Emotion. Its not about a mutual positive connection with each other, but rather what each part GETS from this relationship. I start to believe that everybody just creates their own bubbles without looking at the outer world, especially at the things not running so smoothly. All they want is to maintain this bubble as safe as possible, Maybe by having a nice job, cool Friends or an attractive boy/girlfriend. Nobody is really interested in you but rather in what they get from you to feel safe and grow their Bubbles. I find this quite sad since I strongly believe that the world would be better if we would be less looking for our own Bubbles but  rather that all Bubbles are in harmony with each other...

I appreciate your thoughts on this Topic.

I can understand your concern, from an older perspective of mine i would have very much agreed.
But now i see how the ego has its place in the world. Without ego compassion is worthless. Without death life is worthless.
Everyone is in his or her bubble because everyone is the center of the universe, everyone is god. Are you sure it is not your ego talking? To have a world in harmony seems to be your objective here because it would feel good for your ego. As you see the egos wants do not have to be bad at all.
Maybe you should just create a proper bubble for yourself and you will see how others bubbles are none of your business but yours is indeed.

The people who always want something from you is because they live in scarcity. When you are full of love and wappiness you automatically need to give. Be sad for them because they arent happy.

Of course, pursuing selfish acts seems like that's all there is when you're spiritually ignorant.

Modern culture is very good at distracting people from enlightenment.

What about wanting approval is that a form of egoism too?

@Simon Of course. That's the nature of mechanical self-survival.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Leo Gura So are you saying this is something to expect and accept, or that one should avoid getting involved with people who are still in mechanical self-survival?

@B Clear Definitely get used to it for the next 1000+ years.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Thanks for your answer. I guess you are quite right... However, I always carried the hope and intuition that there is something bigger than "the game".  Something more meaningful, maybe more unifying and connecting, also more egoless maybe... Now I start to realized that playing 'the same game' as everyone else seems the  only possible option of living. I guess accepting that fact might be a good point to start☺

Hey man, you're not alone!

I have realized that too through my awakening stage. And recently I started thinking that maybe this is for purpose to have an ego, no matter how silly it looks for us.

If you really transcended this, would it matter to you what she was doing?

@Simon I've also heard what you are speaking of referred to as WIIFM (What's in it for me?) by the author in an audio book (beyond willpower)...anyway....I see it everywhere too...in myself and others...but, we can only control ourselves...also, I do remember that the author had some awesome advice about living in compassion rather than WIIFM...
