We Don't Really Know Anything

12 posts in this topic

I think it's funny how the ego assumes that it knows things. For example, scientists say there was a Big Bang that created the universe. In our experience the universe has always been around. It might be true that it "started" at a certain point, but in our Awareness it has always been here. In our Awareness we have always been here.

I don't think science can ever find evidence for consciousness because all the scientific experiments happen within Consciousness. All the data collected in an experiment is within consciousness. The scientist is not aware of Consciousness itself which is what he/she actually is. For that he/she would have to be an enlightened master.

I think the beauty of God is it can be experienced individually. It can't be proven to others. If I'm the only one who can see ghosts, why would I prove it to others? That's the mistake religious people make. All the prophets of humanity were practicing religion correctly but the masses aren't. The masses want to "fit" God into their idea of how God should be. Why does God only have to be a creator? Why can't God be the experiencer of the universe through all living things?

My aim is to experience God through a kundalini awakening at some point in my life. I'm not in a hurry I'm just enjoying the process. No reason to chase enlightenment it will happen naturally. Don't feel bad if you don't become enlightened instantly. Enjoy the process. It's not a big deal.

Didnt those prophets created so called Religion. Why they created Religion knowing different people have different experience? Or didnt they knew that? Or did these prophets believed there way was only right? (Reading some islamic text made me ask this question)

No, the prophets didn't create religion, their followers did. When Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life," it's not meant to be taken literally. He said that because no one in his community was enlightened. Some idiots took that literally.

Yes, it's a religion. Maybe Islam was manipulated by someone else. I haven't studied Islam.

@Deep Did you ever hear that joke about the guy seeking God, and the other guy doing self inquiry?

Well, they thought it was very funny.

@Nahm Interesting

I don't really find seeking God or self-inquiry to be helpful. I also don't like the terminology of no-thing. I think saying God is without qualities is better. It's impossible for me to think about God. If we do self-inquiry we try to discover what qualities God possesses, but unfortunately there are none. There is something that is aware but that "thing" is impossible to pin down. When we say, we are this person, who is X years old, and all of that stuff, we are trying assign qualities to the Self. That's how we appear on the outside but it's not who we truly are.

I think meditation is very helpful or any activity that focuses my mind. What has helped you?

@Deep interesting perspective. I have experienced there is no separation. I am experiencing reality is love. One, alone. I am always alone.  I appreciate your input and the variety of perspectives and experiences. I don't see it as impossible to pin down. I see it like a flashlight that try's for a long time to resolve just where the light is coming from, and then laughs, like flashlights do, when it has looked everywhere and then accepts that it is the light. More literally speaking, me and you are the same love, shining through a couple dudes, having a couple experiences.  What has helped me?.... love, lots of 'other' people, reading physics, quantum physics, thermodynamics, neurology, biology, meditation, excercise, vegan, laughing, allowing, appreciating, giving myself away completely every chance I get through parenting, singing, running...in general, I feel best if I just collapse at the end of everyday, if I give everything. Also shrooms helped. Lol. You rock deep.
