Is Self Help Addictive

3 posts in this topic

Does anyone else find self help addicting? Sometimes after watching Leo's videos i get a bit of a high. I find when I'm not self improving i feel low. The dilemma is how do i relax? I feel i need to be contineously to be improving to feel good.

Self help is an addiction. I realised that myself. But is that a problem if you get addicted on how to feel amazing about yourself, how to be your better self?
The part of this process of learning that you are not perfect. Do things you like to do that's how you relax:) Learn new habits which are building, Or if you like to watch movies, there is no problem with that as long as your day is not constantly watching movies and you do not get addicted to it. I think self help is a path like any other. Its never straight. There are ups and downs and mistakes. This is how it should be, just accept it and enjoy the amazing journey:)

It's probably matter with the addiction to the dopamine that our brains release when we are in the anticipation of a reward.

Studies showed that the level of dopamine is even higher during the anticipation, than the reward itself.
