Insight This Morning While Meditating

8 posts in this topic

Wanted to share my realization and insight this morning that I had while meditating.

I am not my brain and I am not my mind. The thoughts that come to me are from past inputs and "experiences". My mind is just running on auto pilot waiting for more sensory input so it can have more thoughts. I am not doing this, someone else is. I knew this but I never realized it. When I was done meditating I went "Ohhhhhhh I see it now".

Then I the question that popped into my mind was is my awareness on auto pilot too?

 What do you all think? :)

I can't believe myself sometimes.

@Avi You need to search for that. No outer insight is going to be valid. :)

This is why we practice to still the mind. To be your true self, the part of you that is wholly you- for it is from this we unlock the truth.

@Avi Hint:

How can something that is all encompassing be on auto-pilot? where would the car be? :P

@Avi another hint: when contemplating, do the opposite from what you've always done: don't dive into the thing with force and striving and determination....but relax into it. let it come to you instead of you going into it.. hope this makes some sense lol
