Is Death Enlightenment?

There has always been a nagging question in the back of my mind when listening to Leo talk about enlightenment. If it is the death of the self/ ego, then would suicide bring about enlightenment/ experiencing absolute infinity?

of course there is nothing bad about death..there's only infinite love and light beyond the illusion of the ego. 
but there's value in reaching enlightenment while still being focused in this physical reality.

so in that sense suicide would not bring the experience of being enlightened while being incarnated on earth

You're contradicting yourself.

You say it's not enlightment & yet say we don't know what happens after we die? 

For all we know death could cause an enlightment experience. Albeit a temporary one. If time is an illusion, hell, you could be enlightened with the milliseconds you have of life before going unconscious. 

I could be wrong, it's all just speculation anyways

Death only applies to the false self, ego.  The true Self is immortal.  Technically the ego never dies though because it never existed.

Edit: I just want to pont out that it is so much pointless mental masturbation. That is not grounded in direct experence. And speculation that death = enlightenment seems like a dangerous hypothesis for some of the emo souls on this forum.
