Are You Ready To Suffer?

21 posts in this topic

The Way can seem quite easy at the beginning. You read stuff and you listen to people and you say "wow, cool that sounds great, I'm gonna do it!"

But no matter what you think, you are going to suffer. For years. You'll feel insecure and weird and dull. There will be a war inside you that will sometimes lead you to the brink of madness. You'll be hopeless, not knowing what to do. You will want to go back to a normal life, and find that it's impossible. And you'll have to live with the terrible fear that you are completely wrong. You'll be lost between two worlds, belonging to neither of them. Maybe for a long, long time.

I assure you it's worth the price. But do you have the balls to go through that ?

Been doing it... I've been torn I don't know how many times. ...I'm not mad already? I thought I lost my mind a long time ago! =)

Living in the two worlds thing sucks though, wife isn't doing shit for herself, and my step son is one cocky guy with a big ego who thinks he knows it all, very very annoying.

Here I go down the rabbit hole!

Well ive been through that stuff and at first it was bizarre...going through synchronicity experiences and peeking behind the curtain.  Now that I realize that there is more to life than what appears on the surface (awakened), I can never go back to the way I used to live, (with ego, trying to obtain meaning through form, judging, comparing myself to others, ad nauseum).

Like... if you are awakened.. than you know of me than since you are one with everything? Correct or not?

Not so weird in fact. If you applied his energy and determination to the Path, you'd be there quite soon...

This seems very true to me. As I delve deeper into the journey, now spending my first year seeking, meditating, reading books and so on it seems to always swing from one direction into the other.

I have weeks in which I kind of feel enlightened. I'm completely calm, completely relaxed, my body actually feels like it massages itself all day long, my thoughts don't bother me and I do my usual stuff with this deep fulfilling knowing that everything is right.

Then I have other weeks in which I am completely attached to all that is being said in my head. I feel terribly anxious, lonely, scared, weird and I have so much compulsive thought going on that I think I'm mentally ill.

And then I have the standard weeks where you have just some of both in it. I know that everything what I describe are just phases to go through but as @Pinocchio stated, it's hard at times.

Anyone, that really wants to get involved in this really take it into account. I really think that for me it's the thing to do because I just want to find truth, not even peace or happiness, just truth. And I'll take the cost into account. And I have the time and resources to do that.

But before delving into this journey, ask whether it is the time and place to do it. It's serious business at some point. And there is no going back. There are points of no-return where you have to decide to either be blinded or to see right through.

They want reality, so I give 'em a fatal dosage.

It's all part of the process. All you can do is play your part in it, and when you feel shitty then that's your job, your end of the bargain. Feel shitty, don't try to be anything else, don't try to manipulate your internal state, and know that it's temporary. You'll be fine.

I really explore this kind of view a couple of weeks now and it works pretty well. It's a good analogy to go about it. Thanks for your wisdom, man!

I'm so tempted to say "You must hate me a lot then"...

Mercifully, "hate" was one of the first things that peeled off me..

Indeed... there comes a point of no-return.

Mooji describes is as:

urge - urgency - emergency

Look into what is most dearest to you, as that is exactly what will be coming up for revision :D

Is it a relationship? A career? Money? Life of a child or parent? Friendships? Health? Home?

Nothing will be left standing... so as to put you right in front of your own self, with no delusions standing in your way.

;)

Are you still ready? :)

I didn't.. I don't :D

Suffering, pain, seem such elevated concepts when you talk or read about them.. still.... LOL

When pain comes and gets you by the throat, you'll feel it! The fear, the lack of stability, the terror of being left with no way to survive... it will all punch you straight in the .. what you called it.

Of course it is worth it! Just don't go down this way thinking you're immune to it or it will not affect you. This "IT" knows your weak points way better than you do, and it will go exactly there and wipe them away more or less swiftly!

:D

@Ayla Hmm..well I realized I want to stay away from pain for awhile and meditate away from it because...uhh... I'm going to die I think if I keep stressing myself out lmao, so it's walking meditation, studying nutrition, learning how to work out and fight at the same time, and writing rhymes for me for about a month, than see how i feel after that. HOPE THIS WORKS!

Once you know enough about this stuff, you're sorta past the point of no return. Watching TV or hanging out with friends or chasing money causes more suffering than sitting on the cushion.

So you're choosing the lesser of two evils.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Thank you for this great reminder. I just had the thought this morning that I should give myself a little break since I did a pretty good job yesterday.

It all seems pretty with unicorns and all, this Self-actualisation journey is sugar-coated on the surface level. Underneath is the inner Battling, hell, conflict, madness, hopelessness, etc. I will have to be ready for more of these. I will also need to keep my sanity.

I remember Eckhart said, to Surrender to All. Be one with life. Bruce Lee: Be like water. Lao Tzu: Go with the flow. It's the paradox again. You will have to keep fighting against the old ways. But also to surrender to everything. (to have more peace of mind) To be so vulnerable and open that nothing can harm you anymore.
