Voicerecording Yourself

7 posts in this topic

So lately i'm wondering if there are people who record themselves, and not particulary in a way to listen how your voice sounds or if you sing to adjust or improve your voice but more like doing a podcast with yourself, to speak up your mind and release all those thoughts and inspirational ideas you might have.

To me personally it has a therapeutic effect on me and i would like to know the experiences of people who are doing the same.

Yes I do it regularly I do it often I mean when I have time alone because I won't do it with people. It's better than journaling . I also journal too. (Actual notebook) I journal since 2015' . Now I started here too, different subjects of course.

The fun thingy is that I don't like to Listen to myself after some weeks or whatever, because I actually record when in sad or upset so I don't want to change my mood lolol. So it's enough for me to only record and let it all out.

So @egoeimai you suggest that thoughts can br gotten rid of so easily?

Yes because you let it out, they are not thoughts anymore, they are smaller, then you somehow try to find better feeling thoughts and speak them out loud (as you did before with the negatives) and you see how you feel after that. It's engaging with the thoughts as well,it's not perfect, but you choose consciously the good ones. And there's a shift in mood. But I.don't have the luxury to do it everyday because I live with family ?

I find this to be healthy practice.  Record yourself often and get your thoughts and ideas out.  This is how you will start to see what you have and then you can build from there.  I have done this massively myself.  And listen to them afterward and take notes.  Make lists.

@Joseph Maynor hmmm getting out thoughts in the open...  I wonder how this practice would turn out to be?

I feel practicing mindfulness would be a better option as it would be faster than recording them however its very easy to get lost practicing mindfulness...

I will try journalling every day on actulized.org... Lets see if itworks for me.

Ive been regular on this practice but 5 days ago I got bored of doing it. I think I will do it again, I prefer record myself than writing.
