Posted February 15, 2016 I am still doing the consciousness work but I am also asking questions. Is asking questions only a way of taking myself farther from the truth? My current impression is that it is helpful to ask questions to work through the ego's objections.
Posted February 15, 2016 The questions are only valid if they serve for the un-learning of what you already think you know. Opening you up, instead of putting yet more "stuff" in. Ego loves problems to solve. It is its role. If you are trying to kill Ego with its blessings.... it's only going to lead you nowhere. Posted February 15, 2016 This is a good question. Are you asking questions, because you want more stuff to think about? 'Cause you're not going to think your way to enlightenment. On the other hand some amount of radical questioning is required. I guess you have to ask questions until you feel you have exhausted your curiosity and hit so many dead ends that you have to try something else.
Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) I think It's okay to ask questions until you get the big picture intellectually, that's one of the main purpose of the mind, it's to gather information, dream and visualize something, then work to make dreams true, as a seeker, enlightenment can start for you as a dream to work on, make enlightenment the last life lesson you want to learn in your life, and after you know the principles, start working in make it an experience, as you are making it an experience you will need to solve lots of problems in your life, including social problems, health problems, sealing unfinished business with people, find the suitable job that keeps you calm, and minimize your list of obligation as possible, becoming honest and mindful, as you go through these actions, in time your ego will naturally dissolve and you will become relaxed and happy as a natural state, you will start to see the light coming gradually, keep moving forward in the path, You will know what to do when you reach there yourself, after that forget everything you learned about enlightenment, keep it as your personal secret, forget this term and no need to utter this ugly word again, and just live blissfully and make your magic in the world Edited February 15, 2016 by Rufus Grammar
Posted February 15, 2016 @Ayla I am not trying to achieve enlightenment by asking these questions ,but I still feel like asking questions is useful, even if it does not serve the purpose of enlightenment. Will I likely have answers to all these questions once I am enlightened? Will it just make sense?

Posted February 15, 2016 @Ayla So there's no way right now for me to know what an enlightened me will be like, right? For example, right now I love studying and personal development-- I find it so fascinating. From what I'm reading and hearing, it sounds like that's just the ego doing its thing and that drive will be gone once I have transcended it. Am I misinterpreting this? Posted February 15, 2016 You need to understand that what you call Ego, is also part of the play of consciousness. It's not apart from it. Somehow now you imagine that you're looking from one side of the mirror into another, not understanding that you are not only on both parts, but you are the mirror too Ayla, www.aylabyingrid.com

If you are questioning your beliefs, you are definitely on your way to enlightenment. This perspective I will state here is from an enlightened being. 'Questions are not always meant to be answered. Just a kid does, there is wonder for the question.' I would just play with that sort of questions. When I have question personally, I just love the one who ask the question. I love this kind of threads. Life is when awareness hides in the idea of personal experience. ~ Matt Kahn
Posted February 17, 2016 Hello Saitama, You will keep asking questions as long as you have to. Don't fight that, it's part of the process.
