Alex Hormozi - the pinnacle of stage orange?

39 posts in this topic

I’ve been studying Hormozi for business / sales advice recently and came to this realization.

his whole life is essentially dedication to “ROI” in terms of business / output.

even his marriage is based in this / built on this lol

all he does is work, workout, rest, repeat

quite obvious him and his wife are blasting copious amounts of steroids

he is insanely wealthy, insane work ethic and clearly loves it (although the aging is starting to show recently)

is this the pinnacle of where stage orange can take you? Into a sort of work based / achievement based nihilism?

love to hear thoughts

must say though, his business advice is great, even if I wouldn’t wish his lifestyle on my worst enemy 😂

I remember seeing him take off in 2023 and wondering what his claim to fame was

The thing is a lot of these guys are great at marketing and never really built a business aside from this, just got eyes on them and built a course

I’m still wary of how true everything he posts is. I looked into his past and it’s unclear actually how successful and sustainable his prior gym business was.

He’s a handsome guy and has a good look for an influencer and is great at marketing and public speaking, selling a dream. But I always am wary of the actual sustainability and truth behind the businesses these guys create. It’s hard to tell what income of his is actually from long term customers vs courses he sells based on a snake eating its own tail.

His YouTube provides pretty basic business and marketing 101 so he does provide some good information, other than that I have no idea what else he has to offer, maybe he has built bank and can invest in legitimate companies now, but generally speaking start ups are not legitimate so it’s hard to actually know if he’s just riding a wave based off his social media marketing or if he actually knows how to build businesses in other spheres.

His advice seems reasonable, but it's mostly pop culture (in a good way).

I watch his videos from time to time to keep myself with some orange essence, but I can't digest his books or life trajectory. If you read like 2-3 good business books and work on a project with real-life changes, you will not need some much content from "success gurus".

What doesn't make sense is why he would be teaching marketing if he sold his business for tens of millions.

People who are good at creating legit businesses do not teach marketing or how to create businesses. They just run their businesses and make tons of money from that. Guys who teach about marketing... YOU are their business. What these marketing gurus do is create a backstory for themselves to then sell their marketing services to you.

Do you see any Silicon Valley billionaire teaching marketing? No.

Agree. It's really frustrating as a creative to learn marketing. The space is oversaturated with shady characters on top of the fact the most creatives never wanted to deal with this crap in the first place.

it’s part of his model.

so he runs a P/E firm called Acquisition.com by being such a public figure he essentially gets access to the best business to invest in.

I know one and essentially they install their systems and Operations, in return for equity to help them scale.

super smart path to becoming a billionaire to be honest, which is his goal essentially.

so the whole teaching marketing, books, etc are all long term plays to help customers build better businesses, and they get to invest in the best ones - win, win, win from a Economic stand point.

my point was more, it’s ALL he cares about - and that I believe he is the epitome of peak stage orange culture of infinite growth (business & gym) > everything else.

His actual business advice is really good imo, helped me a lot when I was getting started, just the whole “hustle culture” I was more questioning - and how this evolves as one moves up the spiral and builds more conscious businesses.

@Lyubov essentially he made a fuck load (8 figures) and decided to leverage that and start creating content to get to 9/10 via P/E

“nothing to sell you” is kinda true but basically he gets the cream of the crop.

even when it comes to investing in companies - he’s set their philosophy to be heavy hustle culture, so knows it’s a bigger chance of success.

from a stage orange business stand point - it’s genius

from a life / spirituality / love embodiment - it’s far from it.

That's Gray Vee's model.

And then they screw the business owner in the end.

But I actually like Satan! Or at least the romanticized version of it ^_^

Yet here we are. Damned we do marketing and damned we don't.

@The Caretaker Let's see how you like it when Satan steals half your business.

You think Hormozi is gonna make his billion through hard work, or exploiting suckers like you?

He appeared in my YT recommendations, I've watched few of his videos, followed him for a while on twitter and my final opinion on him is this: He's basically a softer version of Andrew Tate, where instead of selling courses on how to human trafic your girlfriend he sells you a course on how to build a business. The primary goal of his is the milking of his customers. Classic example of a stage Orange capitalist whose only intent is to take all your money away from you!

If somebody is going to be make money, it rather be me than some scumbag. I will invest it in self actualizing and the greater good while that other person will blow it on hedonism.

@Leo Gura I mean the guys I know have made 8 figures each, so don’t think they feel too screwed over.

he’s far from perfect, but in terms of learning business / marketing, it’s certainly solid.

I guess my question is - how to market consciously?

I remember watching your conscious marketing video years ago, now it’s about implementing that in the digital age, for things that actually serve people.

one day we will see stage green & stage yellow business people 😂

I was metaphorical here. I know how you like the symbolism of Satan as ultimate evil, but it was meant more like a joke. I will call my symbol Lucifer, then, and you can keep your Satan.

And btw, I stated many times how Alex is very repellent to me. I never bought or intend to buy from him.

I think Matt Gray is an example of stage green.

more holistic approach to business, incorporates spirituality, deep work instead hustle culture. Kind of like the hippier Hormozi haha.

Fair enough.

I watched a few of his videos before and his advice was solid. I just wonder what goes on behind the scenes in his business deals. The stuff he doesn't talk about.

It's real hard. I don't have a solution for you.

Remember, Orange exists for a reason. It is often necessary when starting out in biz.

Conscious biz/marketing is a luxury that must be earned.

@Leo Gura you mean like you have to be a devil to earn being a saint. Like a ontological truth of how It must be done?  Otherwise, I Guess, It would take you longer to earn more money short term

That's not an ontological truth, that's just common business practice.

You don't have to be a devil. You can work your way up through hard work. But it will be hard.

People who earn tens of millions quickly are usually doing some kind of exploit. It's hard to get that kind of money through pure hard work. Or they are selling something very low consciousness or unhealthy, like dick pills.

Most rich people are extremely good at finding exploits in society. Which is how they got so rich.
