Some of Donald trump's new legislative movements appear to make a lot of sense

(I'd like to start just by immediately disclosing that I support LGBTQ+ rights and I'm left on the political compass. Also I'm  open to correction/ disagreement. Also I don't actually support Donald trump I'm just looking at these specific legislative movements).

 

Trump's admin has ordered a piece of legislation that holds that there are only 2 genders, and significantly limited support of sex transition surgical procedures for children...

Although the stance that only two genders exist doesn't contradict transgender rights...it just says that you can be one or the others and if you want life changing surgery you need to wait until your above the age of 18.

Does anyone have opinions on whether these are reasonable/logical legislative movements?..

Even considering the general extreme lengths progressivism is now going to, to affirm every whim and fleeting random idea young people have about their gender identity with nearly all forms of investigation or thoughtful questioning as hatefulness or some form of opression or attack...

 

I mean...it kinda feels like society has gone off the deep end with a lot of extreme liberal subjectivism and "whatever you feel like is what is good and holy." I feel that this may also be feeding into the whole new age extreme sensitivity around consent and if you kiss someone at the wrong time or make a habit of complimenting females too much or advance too fast in a sexual encounter you can say goodbye to your life.

 

Modern progressivism often emphasizes emotional affirmation, especially for youth. While this can be compassionate, it sometimes goes too far — treating subjective feelings as unquestionable truth, particularly around gender identity.

 

This can lead to:

Quick medicalization without deep exploration.

Social pressure to adopt non-traditional identities.

Suppressed dialogue, where questioning is seen as hateful.

An overreliance on emotions, potentially undermining resilience and long-term well-being.

 

When taken to extremes, it risks doing more harm than good — especially to the very youth it aims to protect. Balance, thoughtful discussion, and careful support are essential.

I'm also reminded of Leo's videos entitled "Making sense of Jordan Peterson" and "When does the left go too far." Where Leo delivers his conclusions (which I am mostly in agreement with) that certain political figures like Peterson are naturally, energetically put in place to stabilise society and to remind people of the basic logical foundations of their existence. I can't remember what was said in the Peterson episode (and I hope I'm not misquoting) but I think this was the general idea...

Well of course some of Trumps ideas make sense, he didn’t trip his way into the presidency nor become a billionaire or a real estate mogul by luck. Doesn’t change his level of development but he’s clearly a very competent individual. 
 

A lot of stage green ideas get corrupted by other aspects of societies like apparently pharmaceutical companies printing cash from trans medications and even anti depressants and other drugs they prescribe en masse. That whole industry is a disaster.
 

I’m also in favour of limiting these transitions until 16-18 especially as biotech is getting quite advanced and if you really want to transition later in life they’ll be more and more able to do that vs detransitioning a confused teen.  

I was depressed and isolated as a youth if I was propagandized and offered to become a popular girl maybe I would’ve taken that even though I now quite enjoy my manhood and masculinity.

All those fuckin’ expensive non-stop right wing campaigns, making it seem like it’s a huge scary issue in our backyard like a boogeyman, when it’s a tiny minority of people who just want to exist in this world and want the basic human decency of someone acknowledging that.

Yeah it's gotta be obvious at this point but it's equally, this is only one part of trump's entire show.

The main problem in politics is that one side thinks they have all the answers and that the other sides solutions are absolutely wrong, but this is not so, political parties, whatever they believe in do not have a monopoly in good ideas, so when one side see's everything the other side is doing as wrong, then they too are blinded.. Trump's ideas of bringing back manufacturing, is just an idea, its radical (but even the geopolitical analyst Peter Zeihan was talking about this very concept and how it is going to happen and has to happen), but it can work, as if a country relies on other countries, especially ones that are oceans apart, then when the shit hits the fan and the supply chain is broken because of a pirate or canal is disabled and everything that we need in price goes up because we rely on the supply chain being working properly, then it makes sense to have most everything manufactured internally, at least the main things we need...

I think he is working a bit too fast, but he's doing an okay job, I like that he is not a professional politician, speaks his mind freely rather than lying to the publics face and is trying radical things, since nothing is working anyways something radical has to be done, its shaking allot of trees but that is what is needed sometimes!

@Ishanga do you think it would be fair to say that it's possible that some of Donald trump's logistical movements can be justified in certain ways but that perhaps a large percentage of Americans hate him for reasons relating more so to his character, persona and general behaviour?

I mean just looking at the man, I can tell that his mind just goes on loops. To me it's kind of obvious that his character is not a good example and that a lot of racists and homophobes are going to vote for him. I think character matters a lot.

At the same time it's extremely refreshing to see political correctness getting shut down. Teaching young people that it's okay to be offended at 99% existence and that they deserve to have anyone who disagrees with them to be destroyed is really instilling incorrect ideas. However, I also recognize that humanity at large is filled with a large amount of dumb, dumb individuals and that this is included in government and that even if the left is doing certain things wrong (which is obvious and which any political side will do) it's better to try and gain an overarching, big picture view on the direction of the overall beast.

I love playing with the idea of moving to a country like Portugal where their laws are much more intelligent and compassionate and conscious. They are heavily left leaning now and their spiritually inclined as well 💭
