Question about why is there something rather than nothing video

171 posts in this topic

Even nothing, a void is something i get this.

Leo asked in the video What could hold back nothing from spountaneusly turning into something? Leo said: nothing!

But isnt this just a play with words? Just logical reasoning?

If we think in this way then we could ask why would nothing stop being just nothing? Nothing!

This reasoning is kinda like answering with "oh why not?"

And also why does Leo speaks about asymmetry and being biased towards the world (in this situation a void) being just itself and maintaining just that voidness. Whats the problem with that?

And also does this philosophy means that there are infinite amounts of realities? I mean worlds, entities what god can imagine?

I think he means nothing is happening you are just imagining it. Like when you see the void you see that you were just making everything up so nothing is happening you were just nothing pretending something was happening. You thinking something is happening is the void creating something out of nothing.

Just?

Logic IS reality.

Oh why not? is exactly what causes God to exist. Why not Infinity? And so it is.

You are treating all this far too flippantly. This is the logic of existence! Things don't get any more serious than this. This is not just words. Words point to realities.

You're not gonna get a logical answer to this question. Philosophers .. scientists theologians..and enlightened people have cracked their skulls over this question since the dawn of time and until now the universe is only getting even more mysterious in tandem with our advancement as a species . So you can Forget about it entirely.

There must come a moment when you stop looking for answers..and instead drop the questions.  If you do so ..you will start to realize you don't need questions nor answers. And in part this is the trick to peace of mind ..And true enlightenment.

@Someone here No.

We have clear answers. You guys don't want to grasp them.

Nothing never stopped being nothing. It is still nothing.

You're not grasping that there is no difference between something and nothing. It's an imaginary difference.

Alright. let's dive into the impossible..shall we ?

Apparently there is a difference between an empty wallet and a bank account with 1M bucks in it . One is "nothing "..The other is "something ", A LOT of something actually.  So I would suggest you make a distinction between Absolute Nothingness( which is not an empty pitch black void) and the ordinary meaning of the word nothing which points to lack of any thingness of any kind .

@Someone here I here that its important when a human to question what is happening as its one of the only things in the simulation that can. And when you grab a human contemplating the simulation is one of the most important things to do.

I don't understand what you are saying. Sorry.

I think This is relative to your state of consciousness. Maybe you've accessed insane levels of consciousness where everything and all distinctions were blended together .but in sober state of consciousness there is a difference it seems between that Lamb and that car .

@Leo Gura I am struggling to realize the statement that nothing = something. How would it apply in a situation where there is a book with the perception of a red colour versus the absence of the book that doesn't have the perception of anything. How are those equal? Am I taking it too literally?

If there is no difference between anything, what about, for example, a human being able to walk and a rock not being able to walk?

Become directly conscious of a colorless spaceless thing inside the red book but also inside other objects at the same time. Awareness can be in many places at once and is not necessarily like a physical object at all.

Your mind is conceiving things. Everything is a matter of your perspective. Whether you regard two things as equal or not is just a function of how you look at it.

The physical boundaries between objects are mental constructions. An object IS a mental construction.

The entire field of Mind is nothing. And anything that arises within it is suspended in and identical to the nothingness.

@The Crocodile That makes sense, but then if it's nothing why was it even defined in the first place, or how could it be discovered if it is nothing?

Because can be a false dichotomy, and that's the something part you're talking about.

As to how it's possible to be conscious of nothing or God then it has to do with how any finite principle secretly was God the entire time, it's just reflecting the principle in a way that's more clear.

Or the lower principle changes in accordance to suit the higher principle better.

Yes, I think so.

"Solipsism" is a different perspective.

@Someone here did you watch the video “Why is there something versus nothing?”

when you look at an empty cup, you’re filling that cup with a concept called nothing. You’re filling up the cup yourself. Imaginary ideas like nothing only exist because you filled the cup with it. You could replace that idea with Air “ the cup is filled with air” or “ the cup is filled with water”. Water, air or nothing are all imaginary things you’re filling the cup with, there is no difference.

If there’s nothing in the cup or there’s water in the cup in both cases you are projecting concepts inside of it.

The cup is filled with concepts.

So there’s no such thing as nothing there is always something because you’re always projecting. But from that perspective, something equals nothing they’re the same thing.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

You could easily see imagination is just watery, airy, and nothing where those three are more fundamental. The true nature is undefinable. And what seems to be more reflective of that is Nothingness as a sort of actual substance you become directly conscious of, it's not a mere concept or pretended thing at all.
